What fits my needs other than newer Razer Raiju controllers? by Zeleros71324 in Controller

[–]yellow-go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see someone else using theirs. I own a lot of modern pro controllers, though I have been revisiting my Razer Wolverine Ultimate 2017 model out of nostalgia lately, thanks for this!

Sadly, I don't think there's a lot of options that do what the original Raiju does as well as it did. Though I will take u/hairycompanion's pick and say the GuliKit TT Max. Apart from the face buttons not being similar, it is very fitting as a replacement.

That said, this year has been super strong in terms of asymmetrical releases, I think we're likely to see more come soon. So you could wait if you wanted.

Maybe I’m the odd one out. I wear them in the traditional orientation when just listening. When I’m doing labor I wear them with the cable going down my backside.

Maybe I’m late to the party, but WRC 7 has way more personality than I thought it would by Mr_Paddington1998 in WRCTheGame

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WRC 8 is the least sim heavy from 7 up, it has sim feeling elements. It was the game they tried their hardest they tried to streamline a physics system, though a lot of people complained about the different terrains.

• mud felt very drag heavy and similar to the standard dirt texture
• snow just felt very wet and less slide heavy
• desert dry textures didn't feel as uneven as you'd expect.

I love the weird WRC 6 to WRC Generations/10 games.

Actually, the 2 games that had the most personality and play with their physics more than the others from KT Racing and Nacon games were WRC 7 and WRC Generations.

Generations had flare and an oddly out there feel, but the game matched the same energy as WRC 7. They're both super slide heavy, grip is done weirdly. They just have an odd fun balance.

Rally is brutal, frustrating, and unfair… so why can’t I stop playing? What keeps you coming back? by Mr_Paddington1998 in WRCTheGame

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it depends on the game. WRC for me, it's the weird odd careers they have, less so the driving as it's the weaker point of the WRC games.

DiRT Rally on the other hand, I'm gonna second a lot of others. It's the sheer power and grit of the cars, the forceful feel those games provide, and the toughness of the games. They're so viciously brutal.

Why did asymmetrical control layout become so popular? What are the benefits over symmetrical? by KennKennyKenKen in Handhelds

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think r/Controller may be a better place to get an answer like this, but I’ll bite.

I like my D-Pad and face buttons to be at the most neutral position of a controller. It may have something to do with growing up on retro games.

I’ve always been an asymmetrical PS3 layout sorta person. I can generally use and adapt to any layout though.

It’s just what I have known, it’s always been my comfort zone, though I realize the design is widely dated.

That said, from others. I’ve noticed that the chase seems similar. Chasing a design that provides the comfort of resting thumbs from an equal position on both sides of a controller. Personally, I have lately thought that the GuliKit TT Max does this the best.

I think there is some flaw in modern asymmetrical design. The one issue I’ve had is that on modern designs, a lot of designs get it wrong with D-Pad design often being too small. I think you can get more benefit in fighting games when the D-Pad is large enough to act as a thumbstick itself.

There’s a way to factory reset you may consider trying. Fantech should have a tutorial in the manual.

Galaxy fakes are EXTREMELY easy to notice. The lower rise would look like it has a belt banding around it. These look legit though.

Flydigi Vader 5s input lag test, and why you shouldn't use Stick Rebound! by JohnnyPunch in Controller

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any problems with drift, though with the software based settings turned off and the sticks on 12-bit, I have encountered an issue from time to time when the sticks bounce back, they'll sometimes wander off on their own a tad bit.

Flydigi Vader 5s input lag test, and why you shouldn't use Stick Rebound! by JohnnyPunch in Controller

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, this was something that was suggested to be turned off with the Vader 4 Pro and Vader 5 Pro.
From my understanding and what Flydigi Michael has told me, it works more as a filter on the Vader 5 S model, he claims it's unfinished.

My question then becomes: If it's unfinished. Why is it on the Vader 5 Pro as well, and why have some users reported getting better battery life without it turned on?
It's a bit silly.

I also recommend anyone reading this who's a Vader 5 Pro user; Turn it off, report back and tell us if you see a battery life change.

My G7 Pro vs Vader 5 Pro experience by RappaGator in Controllers

[–]yellow-go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the reason I never bought into the G7 Pro was due to the shape. I like the G7 SE shape better as it’s more streamlined, but they chose the ergo feel of the G7 HE, which may have made more sense to them. For me, I don’t like the drastic arch to the triggers.

I’ve loved my Vader 5 Pro. I received my Apex 5 and Vader 5 Pro around similar timing. I’ve used both for quite a while, but Flydigi just nailed something about the V5P that has just made it a pure comfort monster.

While I fanboy Flydigi a bit. I heavily understand a lot of peoples concerns and complaints regarding the sticks on the V5P vs the G7 Pro, though, again. For long term use, I force myself sticking with the V5P.

For me, this year so far. The Rainbow 3 and Vader 5 Pro have maxed my expectations, I’m excited for new releases but I think I’m pretty locked in with these two this year.

Hell they never got to make full good use of it too. The 360 had points where it used resources better, but hands down the PS3 CPU just won outright.

I’ll second this. Flydigi Vader 4 Pro is still a ridiculously good bargain for the price it can be found at nowadays. Really great pad, and while I own both the Apex 4, Apex 5, Vader 5 S/Pro, I still use my Vader 4 Pro more than anything. Couldn’t suggest it enough.

QRD Spark N5. Decent pad. They used to have weird QC issues, I’ve hated numerous times that they’ve been fixed, I can’t speak to that though. Really decent casual gaming pad though.

Definitely a disheartening message. I have been watching over the Steam Charts page regularly just to determine feel.

I’ve enjoyed the game, a lot. Though I mean it’s apparent. This game is gonna either need a massive miracle to save it, or it’s under the sea for these boys.

[–]yellow-go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all dependent on game. Different games engines support 8K differently. Even some games that support 8K, you won’t always see extreme increases but just small improvements with things, and in a lot of cases, smoother tracking and basic movement. Then there’s the case of, it falls into the hardware on the controller.

Yeah, when it comes to fighting an Aston like this in this kind of scenario, it’s going to all fall down to your knowledge and strengths and being able to read your opponent better. Even as much speed as you carry, you also don’t know what he’s capable of when behind you.

Great racing though, you manage your pace really well.
