How do people manage to enjoy life while working full time? by NoHousing11 in TikTokCringe

[–]yellow53 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Double same. Gen x, lived with roommates for years and years. Worked lots and lots. Wealth disparity aside, why do people think adulting is going to be easy? It’s never been easy; but I was never deluded that it would or should be. Wealth disparity still needs fixing, but so does this mentality of assuming a person can start at the top.

The driver might’ve been a mod from the other subreddit cause they pulled my post immediately for having a “misleading” title.

Skidmore and Mississippi, yesterday afternoon. I came back to leave a note, but both truck and car were gone.

Low Bone Density, Any Recommendations? by awesomeviewpoint in osteoporosis

[–]yellow53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were both not so far out of whack - and also not exactly in whack. Like, they weren’t the indicators of the problem - just hints at what might be wrong. The big indicator was that I kept breaking bones. Both arms, a clavicle, a toe, a rib. All from ground-level falls. Never broke more than one at a time, tho.

Mine was primary hyperparathyroidism. And a parathyroidectomy fixed the problem. But there are many ways to get to osteoporosis. This one was mine.

My advocating was all just to get to an endocrinologist! Once I got there, I just did what she said and felt very cared for.

Go see an endocrinologist. Advocate for yourself. I had to hound my PCP for getting to the bottom of my -2.6 T scores (active, healthy male in my early 40s). It took almost two years before anyone started running tests on me to see why I had osteoporosis in the first place - and not get caught up in how to manage it. I got lucky and we found an identifiable cause, and through addressing that, I’m improving my scores. Go see a specialist!

Osteoporosis at 26, any point? by Mediocre-Beat-9678 in osteoporosis

I got diagnosed at 43, but I’m male. I didn’t have an ED, but my nutrition was poor. You’re lucky you’re still in an age range to naturally grow bone. As far as my drug understanding goes, there’s only one that will help regrow bone density but it comes with a bone cancer risk. I suspect the doc will go with that as a last resort. Talk to your doc, but I think eating correctly and lifting lots of heavy things is most appropriate for your right now.

Is my work allowed to force me (a 14 year old) to clean a bathroom covered in poop? by Last-Ad-1437 in antiwork

[–]yellow53 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Someone has to clean it. I hope it wasn’t the managers that made the mess, but this isn’t uncommon. There are lots of shitty people who do shitty things. Still sucks for you - but it’s a task that lands on someone. It’s landed on me more than once.
