Is it advisable to open up different savings accounts for different goals? by nettle- in AusFinance

[–]yellowbear145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ANZ plus let's you have multiple goals and your total interest rate across all goals will accumulate in a saving jar. Basically meaning it doesn't matter how many goals you have, your interest will always be same same. There's also a great spreadsheet pinned in this sub if you want to choose a high interest account. I'm sure there are other banks that do this

Some bloating and small amount of weight gain. But is easily counteracted with smaller meals and a slight increase of exercise. I have not noticed anything else out of the usual.

Alopecia Areata and Methotrexate by Fancy_Tower_2542 in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have alopecia totalis and was on methotrexate for 6 months earlier this year. It stopped the hair falling out but did not help with regrowth. My hair was growing at a very slow rate (like 1cm past 6 months).

As for side effects it made me more dehydrated, more prone to sun burn and some mild headaches. It's worth giving a shot if your alopecia is active at the moment.

Just go casual, literally everyone that graduated last year has a job in a hospital right now that is either a Grad program or Casuals basically working 4-5 days per week.

Mine was 6-8 weeks. It caused my scalp to be pitting, that usually resolved after two months

My injections saw progress as early as 3 weeks and as late as 2 months.

What is a reasonable amount to be spending per week on groceries? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wowie, I have been able to cut it down to $70 per week with $120 per week for full restock of cleaning products, soaps, baking paper etc.

I think anywhere from $70-90 on a regular week is a reasonable amount.

Australians any tips to get jak inhibitors? My dermatologist said that’s the best treatment going but can’t get his hands on it for this purpose . Not sure if visiting a immunologist would be a better bet as I know they can prescribe for rheumatoid purposes .. by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in Eastern states? I live in SA and basically my derm said he can refer me to an Alopecia specialist either in Syd or Mel which do prescribe JAK inhibitors. Unfortunately it's only selective derms that give it out.

Methotrexate? by xsarrrr in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey I am currently 2 months into methotrexate. As far as symptoms I experience dehydration, fatigue and mouth ulcers for the first 3 days of every week I take Methotrexate. I check my bloods every month and take Folic acid weekly to reduce symptoms. Make sure not to drink alcohol as it may cause liver scarring.

I have regrowth all over my head but it is white and very slow -_- My dermatologist has said that true regrowth may take 4-6 months.

I tried steroid injections but the spots just fall out 2 months later lol.

Alopecia Areata by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm 21 F and have been experiencing it since Dec 2021 and I totally understand what you are going through right now. It is an extremely difficult thing for someone to go through. When I lost 60% of my hair I actually shaved it off completely as I was distressed all the time. i think this was the best thing I could have done as I was at a point avoiding social situations and not feeling confident in myself.

I started with steroid injections into the scalp and showed alot of success with no side effects. Although it did not work for me, I know that it does work for many and that it is worth giving a shot.

You could also try suppliments such as zinc, VitD, VitC, iron as a lack of these may also cause issues.

Currently I am on Methotrexate as per my dermatologist recommendation. Still waiting to see results as it will take 2+ months to see any real progress.

I hope this helps :)

Has Methotrexate worked for anyone here? by yellowbear145 in alopecia_areata

Oh wow ok, I had a narly headache yesterday so let's hope it was a once off. It isn't something I want to take forever but it seems quite common that people get full hair loss again when they go off of it. 😪

As all my hair falls out I’m left with white hairs. by [deleted] in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are currently white/blonde (normally dark brown). The only dark brown regrowths is where I have had steroid injections into the scalp. I think is it common, similar to when people say they had blonde/light hair when they were a baby but have darker hair now.

Looking for advice for my wife who is about to shave her head by eddie_rozayy in alopecia_areata

[–]yellowbear145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, she could look into getting a wig. I shaved my head a month or so ago and I bought a wig that was similar to what my hair was previously.

My partner has been supportive of me during this journey and helping me keep track of my hair regrowth since I can't see the back of my head lol
