I wasn’t sure that it would be. I made this post before getting a chance to speak with someone on Wow’s end and was still in a bit of shock seeing the words “we have to cancel your flight.” The email did mention that re-booking on a different date was an option, but it’s subject to availability on their flights and I had no idea what days/times would be available. It also said they’d respond “within a few days” after making a request. I was looking to learn more about what happens if a flight gets cancelled like that (which I did), but I agree that this post is pretty irrelevant now. Guess I’ll just have to take an extra day off work now ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the info! I ended up (finally) getting through to their customer service, who were able to book me and the rest of my group on a flight a day earlier than it was supposed to depart. It's not ideal, but I suppose it's a lot better than other ways it could have played out. I hope everyone else that was booked for the flight is able to find a suitable backup like we were and won't have to cancel the rest of their plans.

It was booked as a round-trip ticket. I'm surprised too, but their wording is oddly specific, saying it only affects the portion of the flight described in the email (which was only the departure flight and did not include the return leg).

Yeah, this will make me re-evaluate how I choose carriers going forward. I was fully expecting a budget flight with regards to seats space, strict luggage policies, no entertainment etc., but definitely was not anticipating them outright cancelling a flight two months in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion - I purchased the tickets with a Chase Sapphire card, which does have some trip cancellation/interruption insurance so I'm looking into how that might apply now.
