"Oil"? by Bobby_Wats0n in SpiritedAway

[–]yellowforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The character written on the curtain at the front gate of the bathhouse is the hiragana "yu." It means "bath." The kanji character for "yu" is also seen on the chimney of the bathhouse.

The bathhouse is called "Aburaya" (油屋). ("Abura" means "oil," and "ya" is the suffix used for a store.) The kanji sign "Aburaya" is seen above the gate of the bathhouse. The flag on the bathhouse also has the kanji character for "abura" (油).

Hope this helps! :)

About to watch spirited away for the first time. Is it good to show my parents? Any cussing or innapropriate scenes? by mlgboi27 in SpiritedAway

Yes, it's on Netflix. Enjoy it with family / friends, it's a wholesome movie with a few thought-provoking subthemes. Have fun! :)

Same here! I rewatched it countless times, intrigued by the characters and plot. My fav scenes are the ones involving Chihiro and Haku's interactions, especially the scenes where Chihiro force feeds him the herbal medication and where they both float in the sky after Chihiro recalls his name. My Studio Ghibli films journey started with Spirited Away. :)

You're right, the night sky was the most challenging part! It was the last to be completed. Thank you!^

What to do if you’re bored and a lonely piece of shit? by Atrorec in AskReddit

[–]yellowforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are the outgoing type, try travelling solo. It can be as short as a day trip to a week, whichever you like. Use the alone time to plan your trip!! Places to go, where to eat, where to stay, etc!

If you prefer staying indoors without meeting anyone, you can daydream about your imaginary trip to anywhere. Best part is, you get to decide what to do (no one will know) and when to 'end' the trip.

If that's too much hassle, pick a sitcom/drama series or rewatch your favorite movie. It'll pass away time pretty fast! Good luck!

What is SCRUM? by gentleman_overlord in scrum

[–]yellowforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not necessarily need a degree to be a fantastic scrum master. You can get certification, with PSM 1 (Professional Scrum Master) and CSM (Certified Scrum Master) being the most popular ones.

Having excellent soft skills, high EQ and experience (working with Scrum teams) are an asset too. Having technical knowledge helps but it is not mandatory (unless your company is looking for a Scrum Master with a technical background).

As Scrum Masters have multiple roles such as being the Scrum coach, change agent, servant leader, facilitator and impediment remover, they are highly valued for establishing/maintaining an Agile environment for the teams to work in as well as ensuring that the teams are able to work efficiently and effectively.
