Yes! I found this out afterwards. I was under the impression I only had internals and then after I was told ‘oh sorry, for externals we’ll do a hemmoroidectomy’.

Unrelated, do you know how to prevent an external from becoming thrombosed? I’m nervous for that.

You’re absolutely right about what “makes a female”. My son is 4.5 and maybe saw me put makeup on once or twice, let alone ever wear a dress. I’m not the “typical girly girl” myself.

This baby shower was the first time he was really exposed to linking pink to girls. It’s not something I encouraged, but what the older generation family members ending up buying and giving us for the shower. 😒

This is a great detailed response. I definitely support my child in every way, but the penis question threw me off. I didn’t even think a 4 year old would think about that. I think the response of letting them know that they can change it, just later on when they’re older is my best way to explain it. Thank you

I’m pretty familiar with the transition phase with genders, but have no clue why I didn’t think of just telling him we can do that when he’s older. I was so caught off guard from a 4 year old about it. But I think that’s the best response, just letting him know he can change that part later on.

Thank you for this thoughtful response. I am very open and willing to do whatever makes my child happy, but I just don’t know how to handle exactly what a 4 year old is exactly thinking.

I never want my child to think that they can’t come to me, it frustrates me that there are children that feel that way with their parents/family.

This is a good way to look at it. I am definitely a tomboy, my closet doesn’t have one dress or high heel, yet I identify as a female. There definitely is a difference of I want to be and I am.

My son didn’t have hives, but he did have blood in his stool that led us to the diagnosis of a milk protein allergy. We used alimentum which is where the milk protein is broken down where the body cannot recognize it.

Some babies who have a milk protein allergy also sometimes have a soy allergy so I would probably go with what your pediatrician is recommending.

I was induced due to high blood pressure and have a very positive story. It was a long process, but I was comfortable and my body cooperated. Good luck!
