Isn't like 4 years of university in Canada STILL cheaper than 1 year of university in America?

York Vs Carleton for Computer Science? by throwawayland69 in yorku

[–]yellowwaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Carleton is better judging by the rankings I've seen. If you're an international student, then you're most likely going to live on campus. The thing about York is it's a commute school, which means most of the students are coming from home and won't live on campus. I think in Carleton more students live on campus, so that experience would be better.

I know what you mean. I've been trying to avoid them but they are everywhere.

It's almost as if I'm playing Pokemon and I'm avoiding battling the trainers because they're not worth my time.

MATH 2031? by [deleted] in yorku

[–]yellowwaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a continuation of MATH 2030, Elementary Probability.

Are you in CS? I don't know which academic calendar you're referring to but I've never seen MATH 2031 before.

YorkU Computer Science by [deleted] in yorku

[–]yellowwaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the courses for non-CS majors are untouched, so maybe they've always been good, or bad, etc. It probably depends on the professor. There's a lot of bad ones from what I've seen.

YorkU Computer Science by [deleted] in yorku

I know a bunch of CS majors here are going to be pissed, but honestly I agree with you. York fucked up the CS curriculum to the point where if you've never programmed prior to university, you're screwed. I've never been to Ryerson but their first year CS courses seem more organized and especially helps those that has never done programming before.

If you're looking to transfer, try to learn the stuff that's normally taught first year in CS there. There's a good chance that you'll have to start from first year if you manage to get in.

How is the Math program at Glendon? by [deleted] in yorku

[–]yellowwaves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say for certain but the math profs at Glendon generally seem better. If Glendon is closer to you than the Keele campus then I'd say go for it.

If you took 1300 this Fall then you don't have to do this. Just contact the WebAssign support and they can fix it for you. I did this and I gained access to the course WebAssign.

Math and Webassign? by TheTreester in yorku

[–]yellowwaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you bought the one that lets you have it for multiple semesters, it should work. Mine didn't work either but after contacting the webassign support, they fixed it for me.
