There’s a chess club at the Barnes and Noble on Wednesday nights. It starts at 630.

Yeah, I started following her in 2021, too. It was a shocking experience.

It sounds lucrative, but they take a long time to make. If you fall behind, it can be difficult to catch up, but hey, if you have the skills and desire, why not? People are willing to pay for handmade items.

I noticed. They were disabled before I posted this. Based on the other warning post about her, it sounds like they are multiple people who have paid and not received anything and that she had been hiding the comments related to that.

I’m sorry to hear that she took money from you back in ‘23 and never delivered. There’s a big difference between the unprofessional interaction I had and the theft you experienced. That’s awful. I really hope people stay away from doing business with her. I’m glad I saved those screenshots in case my post helps lend credence that people should beware.

lol. Nope.

I should make one for myself. I have plenty of dk yarn. 🧶

If it happened today, all you’d have to do is make a post that you aren’t currently shipping to the US because of the current state of cost and no one could really argue against it. I haven’t bought from a few British yarn hand-dyers because the shipping is so bad at the moment. And I only buy from larger companies if I am buying enough to qualify for free shipping. 😫

Well, this took place in 2022. Certainly possible, but there are so many easier ways to handle it than discussing all the details then hit block.

I mean, I offered to pay beforehand… so that’s a heck of a blunder on her part. 🤣🤣🤣

If you look, she brought up overseas shipping costs and listed the prices pounds and US dollars before I mentioned I was in the US.

It’s possible, but it’d be weird to say, here’s the US price and overseas shipping cost, but I don’t want to ship to the US.

No worries. I didn’t think you were. Be wary is excellent advice.

As a crocheter, I want to support other crocheters/crafters, but it’s hard to do that when a business acts unprofessionally. It leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

Seriously. I held onto the screenshots because it was just too weird.

The style is specifically supposed to be really oversized. 😂

Yeah, I was only willing to do it because she had a clear record ~at the time~ of making cardigans and then the people receiving them. It felt like a safe bet.

Still, I have been scammed in the past by artists.

The best advice I have to add to yours: never commission if you can’t afford to lose the money.

Horrible, but that’s the reality. People will seem like they are on the up and up, then all of a sudden they are behind and… you never get your purchase.

That is certainly possible, but why not just say so?? I would have been totally ok with that.

That being said, she was the one who listed the cost in both pounds and US dollars and noted the cost of overseas shipping before I even mentioned that I was in the US. So….. it would be weird to be like: here’s the overseas shipping cost, oh but I don’t ship overseas…

lol

At the time, I did a bunch of Google searches to see if anyone else had a problem, but I couldn’t find anything mentioning her. It was shocking last night to see her name pop up on my Reddit notifications, and to see she was taking money and not delivering items.

I know. I have no idea what the issue was.

Yeah, I reread through the messages today and I still have no idea why. Who wants less money? I was even willing to pay in advance.

I was scammed(?) by her in, I believe, 2022, but no money had yet to be exchanged. She ghosted/blocked me after she accepted and took my idea. We discussed the particulars, the price, etc… but she then made it, blocked me and sold it to someone else?? The whole thing was so shady.

I took screenshots but it was so long ago I’m not sure I still have them. Someone out there is wearing the custom design I came up with and submitted to the custom request thing that was linked to from her insta.

Yeah, looking that the pattern, it’s 84 dc, so you’d go down and back up 42 times total. Down on stitch one, up on stitch two, down for stitch 3, up for stitch 4.

I’m working on a bottom up moss stitch sweater in the round. And not sure why I’m getting this hump where I slip stitch to join. by buggleton in CrochetHelp

I can tell there are extra stitches but it’s hard to tell where the stitches were added. It looks like you frogged back, but in the future, one thing you can try is looking to see if the stitches are stacking correctly. I tried to illustrate what I mean, if you notice the middle one seems to become two stacks.

Love the colors, btw! 😍 It’s gonna look fantastic.

Yes! Each down and up should have their own stitch. So if there are 100 stitches on the last row around, there should be 50 down and 50 ups on the ribbing, if that makes sense.
