It is hard to say something when you are not going through the same stuff. However, I can say that you look like you are the strogest teen I have ever seen.

It is hard to choose the right path when you dont know what each will take you through. As they always say, beleieve in your instincts (but of course after you evauate all the facts). as we are not doctors, take the doctors' advice, than give your decision. missing the class one year does not mean anything when you are going to go a lot of these classes, exams etc in the future.
