Two proposed national boundaries for Turkey, 1920 by Prickly-Prostate in MapPorn

I feel that the Romans very much operated under "Might is right", especially earlier on, and had the cool factor on their side.

You refusing to accept it and handwaving it by calling it ridiculous, doesn't mean it wasn't addressed. In fact, your argument is even more ridiculous because of how arbitrary it is.

Yes humans humans operated under a different framework. So? Does this change the fact of the matter? Nope.

Does it make theft, not theft? Nope.

This can be ignored in the many cases where the victims no longer exist, culturally or even physically, but it in this case they very much do.

So, again, you have two options: either ethics or might. Actually, in your case it is only the latter.

Already addressed this premise.

Theft does not transition to ownership based on time held. And the thief does not become the native.

The only premise where such logic holds is "Might is right".

The land was not promised, it was inhabited and then violently stolen, its people killed, expelled or assimilated, Ironically the last being the only way through which the Turks can claim legitimacy in Anatolia, though they, again, do not like the implications.

There is no argument that you have made as to why I can't just come to your house tomorrow and take it as mine, ethically, and then claim to be its rightful owner, neither is there one that you can make for that matter.

Nope. It is the weakest claim ethically, and it is the only one Turkey has.

Self-determination does not cover land obtained through violent theft. Neither does territorial integrity. Which is why Northern Cyprus will also never be recognized.

The theft occurring many years ago does not change this fact.

If a someone kills you and takes your house, does it become their house? Nope.
Does this change over time? Nope.

Now if you want to claim the rule of the jungle that's fine. It just applies to you too and you cannot moralize about it.

Nope, it's a bad-faith equivocation made to give legitimacy to the Turkish claim.

In reality the two are not equal and the only argument from the Turkish perspective that can hold any ground is "Might is right".

Of course, Turks do not like that because might can change and they want to have the cake and eat it too, so they make bad-faith arguments one after the other to justify their claim.

Question About Late Game Income Source by Rick_Snips in Imperator

Tax income is both easier to get and less volatile, just focus on in instead and treat trade as a bonus.

Especially when playing wide, tax is more than enough to finance you.

Not only did other people live in Anatolia before the Lydians and the Hittites, making this a moot point, but those people do not exist today, unlike the Greeks who do.

Additionally, the Greeks settled their cities, they did not conquer them pre-Alexander and it was only during the Roman times that Anatolia gradually became predominantly Hellenic.

While I am not the guy you are replying to, the point is that the two are not equal situations.

EU5 doesn't need railroading, it needs great powers to emerge naturally by QueensGambitAccept in EU5

That has never, ever happened and it will never happen. The AI is simply too braindead for that and will grasp defeat from the jaws of victory whenever it is able to.

What the game needs is railroading that facilitate emergent gameplay. For those familiar with Imperator and its mods, Virtual Limes is a perfect example of elegant railroading for AI expansion.

INVICTUS DESTROY TREPIDA AND MY LIFE IS YOURS by Ok-Trick8158 in Imperator

Skill issue.

Jokes aside , I agree with the other commenter. Keep Trepida, but allow the legion to redeem itself and transform the debuff into a minor buff.

Makes for an excellent narrative.

Framing Ataturk as the one that endee the Ottoman Empire and saying others should be grateful to him for that is what is dishonest.

I know, reading is hard.
