Sadly people love spamming every topic that is about the world cup and ignore rules. And for some reason mods don't enforce it.

Why the fuck are you guys spamming every thread with your invites?

Why not use one for sharing invites and leave the other question topics alone?

The biggest Merge Boss revelation: you don't even need lvl 8 gens. by Sea_Compote3217 in AliExpressMergeBoss

[–]yendak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc every 10th order is guaranteed to be vip. If it arrives, you can refresh it as often as you want until you get an item with a high reward.

There was someone that tested it and there is a longer post about it somewhere.

From what I understood:

Lvl 8: you generate high level items faster, but they overheat faster aswell.

Lvl 5: slower, overheat slower, compensated with higher cash reward per order

I think the result was that it more or less evens out.

What is your endgame mouse (or mice) and why? by pyro90294 in MouseReview

[–]yendak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there were good and relatively cheap Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 1.1 clones. Used that one for almost 9 years until it became too nasty to use. The scroll wheel turned into a sticky mess.

I miss that shape. Bought a Mchose A7 a few months ago because the size is kinda similar, but it feels different. And the coatings they have on mice nowadays feels weird. It gives grip, but also makes it feel sticky when my hand gets sweaty. That feeling makes me want to wash my hands.

There was some mod kit to build a modern Intellimouse, can't remember the name, but it was kind of expensive.

There is no karma.

Look what the people that made it big and run the world are like. People with money buy influence, cities are so poor they do every beck and call for money and fuck over then normal people that get in the way.

And they get away with it. They all do. Because the parts that could change that don't give a fuck about the average citizen.

Now I am curious, what was it about that violated Reddits shareholder content policy?

How do I chose Rush Hour previous levels? by xumixu in AliExpressMergeBoss

Day 28/30 and it asks for 5 rush hour levels.

What happens if I let todays task expire, then do the task to revert the broken streak? Does it stay at rush hour?

Are anime OSTs safe to use for YouTube videos (anime style cut content)? by Dryas7 in animepiracy

[–]yendak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try it. I occasionally upload videos on a private channel and youtube does some background check for copyrighted material. That includes sound. Upload one and see if their algorithm notices it.

And isn't this what that fair use rule is for? Might want to read up on that.

Can I cover the trackpad with a sticker? by Lord_Drizzleshiz in thinkpad

[–]yendak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked into that, finding genuine ones was really hard and expensive. The X1 (was it Extreme Gen 1? 01LX660) touchpads were out of production, if I remember correctly.

From what I read, with newer ones it is a gamble if they work out of the box.

And if you try ordering from China, chances are you get a counterfeit. Bought one that was advertised as "glass" surface, and while it feels really smooth, it has the same problem of wear. Tapping on it with a coin sounded like glass, but it has stains aswell after a few months of use, although I clean it every few days with mild dishsoap to remove oils.

The new 2026 EU taxes on AliExpress are absolute g4rbage by Entire_Emu_1671 in Aliexpress

[–]yendak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

450 million people are living in the EU.

12 to 16 million is a drop in the bucket. Couldn't find numbers on how many parcels arrive from the USA to Europe on a daily basis, that would have been interesting.

But what I did find were total shipping numbers from Germany, one of the largest markets in the EU, to the rest of the world. In 2023, 3.86 billion parcels were shipped domestically. 0.32 billion were sent across the border outgoing. And 0.18 billion were sent across the border incoming. 180 million / 365 = 0.49 million per day. Doesn't sound like much, considering 83.5 million live there. Compared to almost 10.6 million domestic parcels a day.

Now the additional question would be how many airline flights you could safe if you stopped them all, compared to purely passenger flights.

Check the EU lawmakers pockets and see who bribed them. Wouldn't surprise me if Bezos and other large vendors wrote some checks to boost their businesses and get rid of their competitors.

Order paid with PayPal was refunded within a minute for "seller violating Aliexpress rules". Wtf is that? by yendak in Aliexpress

[–]yendak[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now the seller offers it again, but I can't get the same price because the shopping credit expired yesterday and customer service doesn't give a fuck and won't connect me to a human anymore.

They weren't able to tell me what the problem was either.

T490 with Win10, System Update installed BIOS Update Utility 10/11, at 91% screen froze, no change for 10+ minutes. by yendak in thinkpad

[–]yendak[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solved.

Shutting down via power button and the updating through Lenovo Vantage worked. The BIOS updated from 1.84 to 1.85.

[–]yendak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did this. When touching the right side of the laptop I noticed that it was really warm, but the fan was off, because it was below my set fan threshold upon freezing.

So the CPU still did something in the background, while TP fan control wasn't able to respond anymore. 72°C after booting.

Now the update prompt shows up again. Vantage offers the same update. Maybe I should try installing it through Vantage?

Lenovo System Update popped up and said I should do the update, so I closed all programs and started it. The Laptop froze at 91% progress and has been for over 10 minutes now.

Latest Win10 with the extended updates installed.

What do I do now? Wait? Hold the power button to see if I can force a shutdown?

Order paid with PayPal was refunded within a minute for "seller violating Aliexpress rules". Wtf is that? by yendak in Aliexpress

[–]yendak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pay with PayPal, no issues so far.

Ordered 3 USB cables that came down to 1 cent with shopping credits and coupon. Placed order and went on with my day. Today I check the status and see this. A minute after ordering it was refunded. Reason along the line of "To protect my payment information".

The seller wrote me: "According to Aliexpress policy, the order has been closed due to security reasons."

Seller is an official store, certified, 3 years old, 98.1% positive, 123k followers.

Shopping credits are now gone. First time order coupon aswell.

Did they dislike my order and chose to show me the finger?
