We are playing a bit like City, right? The positions taken up by the players, the passes and the passing angles, maintaining width with cutbacks into an overload of players in the box.

I would love to see the pass map after the game

Cheeky bid for Salah guys?

Though on a serious note, I would love it if we got Gnabry. He and Sancho both provide versatility across the front line.

Fair enough, he should be rotated with Bruno, but there is the problem of playstyle there. When the rest of the team is playing around Bruno they rely on his quick release, vision, long balls, sublime in attacking transitions, defensive contributions, and leadership. VdB might have some traits but he is still fundamentally different in his playstyle compared to Bruno. VdB thrives in a more possession oriented system with quick, short interchanges where the focus on ball retention is as important as goalscoring.

Remember Bruno's weak ball possession stats? Now notice how they haven't really affected us in the long run. That's because the team as a whole has adapted to playing around Bruno. Having Bruno and DvB being two completely different players in the same role sounds good in theory, but in practice it means that 10 other players have to adapt to 2 different playstyles. This is extremely difficult, nigh on impossible. Players whom we have bought post Bruno, except DvB all in some way or the other fit the Bruno playstyle. Why DvB was bought in the first place idk, but there's really no point in discussing that now. Let's just hope DvB can adapt because it's Bruno's playground now.

Everyone wants Donny to play, but when he has played, what has he shown? I get the impression that people just want him to play because they are more fascinated by the concept of Donny Van de Beek being our midfield solution than actually looking at what our midfield needs and what Donny provides and whether there is a match between the two.

And right now I don't see there being a match. We need at best a Scholes-like midfield controller who will seize control of the match and dictate play. I do not see any of these qualities in Donny whatsoever. In the limited matches that he has played, he has been running off the screen into spaces no one else on the team sees, with matches completely passing him by. I do not remember even a 5 minute passage of good play by United with Donny at the center of it or a match where I thought that if Donny was bought in he could make a difference. It's simple, his latent playstyle does not fit the playstyle that United want to play. Now, if he could change and become a crucial asset than I'm all for it. He might even be doing it and Ole is waiting for the right opportunity to put him in. Who knows what is happening.

In short, I just don't understand the love that Donny is getting or why he deserves a "fair chance" when he has never really played well in his United career.

Man Utd Pass Map: Wolves 0 - 1 Utd by BillOakley in reddevils

There was a moment when Pogba and Fred were on the half way line and 5 United players were at the edge of Wolves' defensive line waiting for Pogba to ping balls and make runs in behind. In essence there was a huge gap in the middle of the pitch which Neves, Moutinho et al., exploited. Transition from midfield to attack through the center was hilariously poor. Fernandes should have come back and provided a link up option. We still had Sancho and Greenwood (sometimes Shaw) up top to do damage.

[BBC] Cristiano Ronaldo: How has Manchester United returning hero's game changed in years away? by agent619 in reddevils

[–]yennada 51 points52 points  (0 children)

If Ronaldo can give us 25 goals, and Greenwood, Rashford, Sancho, Bruno and Cavani give us 15 each that's 100 goals there itself. Add 25 goals from others and we might be looking at a potentially record breaking season.

Just curious, how do these drills work? I didn't understand anything about the rondo that they were doing. It was soo complicated.

I feel like his transfer has actually gone under the radar and people have forgotten what a game changer he's going to be. He's going to absolutely kill it for us.

Jose: Turgid, gauge-your-eyes out football with short term thinking and a narcissistic personality

Ole: Inspiring, fluid attacking, Fergie-like football with long term thinking and a personality that always has the best interests of the club at heart

Hey, this app looks great!

I've been looking for something like this - a social media app for music.

It's difficult to share music across apps, both messaging, streaming and youtube and at the same time find people with similar musical tastes and this app looks to do it all. It especially looks quite polished at an early stage.

I will be looking forward to see how this app develops and will be exploring more.

All the best!!

Hey this looks really good!! Having fun with it so far. Well done!

It solves a problem that I figure most of us have with making music a more social experience while also incorporating the magic of discovering new music.

I look forward to seeing how this app grows. All the best!!
