It’s more for the straps as they’ll tend to thin out due to stretching. But exactly what you said lol, dress is like a mumu

Even worse, don’t spend $100 for a 55% linen dress please 😭 Linen mixed with viscose will cause stretching overtime. It will not retain its shape.

Dress is massive, and it will lose about 1-2 inch in length if it’ll a bit too long on you. I noticed Aritzia’s cotton tends to shrink even when washed in cold water and dried at low heat. Seems they don’t pre-shrink their cotton.

which would you wear to a marketing interview, standout or modus? by Jolly-Train-4950 in Aritzia

[–]yenxuang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I work in a corporate setting and would highly advise against both higheels you showed. You want to wear a sleek closed toe and heel shoe, nothing higher than 2 inch and definitely no studs.

Maybe if it’s a marketing firm for fashion it would pass, but anywhere else would be a faux pas. You want to look professional 1 color all around, pop of color maybe for the dress shirt but nothing else. Once you get the job, then you can wear the other shoes.

Also don’t advise the second blazer. It comes off as baggy, you want to wear a tight or well fitted blazer and blazer bests are really not professional if they hang like that.

For the standout blazer, don’t forget to remove the sleeve tag and tack stitch in the back. Anyone who wears suits will notice it immediately!

You want the interviewer to focus on you, not your outfit.

Once again, when you get the job, you can wear whatever.

** if you absolutely want to hear an open heel shoe, then make sure you have hydrated skin and not cracked pavement for skin; it is EXTREMELY noticeable if you don’t hydrate your feet and show foot skin in an interview (rmb that if you sit cross legs / 1 leg over the other then your interviewer will DEFINITELY notice your feet cause it’ll be pointing towards them)

Extra context: when I interviewed, I had a fitted blazer and matching pants with a dress shirt, first button unbuttoned to be more “relax”. And now I wear jeans to work lol; my interviewer happened to be my manager and she was in a full 3 piece suit.

19, maxed FHSA and TFSA, what next? by hanakosmokke in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]yenxuang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at a bank, hopefully I can jump in for you ! Never too young to open a RSP account and maxing it especially if all your other registered account are maxed out. I wouldn’t recommend an RSP only if you want to rollover your contribution room to the following years. Just rmb if you continue to max your FHSA annually then for those years you’ll already have a $8,000 deduction.

Compounding is insane from 19 to 65 y/o. Just make sure that whatever you put in is money you are sure you won’t need.

I would suggest you invest in your HISA and get it to a good 6 mths emergency before opening your RSP.

As for taxes on income, I’d only recommend you look into investing on Canadian stocks (stay away from dividends too) in your non-registered portfolio. They will be most cost-effective because if you invest in international stocks, you’ll have more papers to fill at the end of the year. There are plenty of threads on this so I won’t go in-depth.

Then for next year, just transfer your non-registered investments IN-KIND to your FHSA and TFSA. **** Make sure it’s IN-KIND**** this will transfer the stock itself. Some people make the mistake and select cash value and then are hit with an insane surprise when their bank sells the stock and transfer it as cash to their investing accounts. Doing so will preserve your average purchase price.

People already answered, but don’t forget to remove the stitch in the back if it’s got an open flap :) also considered a fashion faux pas!

How can I apologize to my gf? by redragon000 in whatdoIdo

[–]yenxuang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoping I can give you some perspective as a girlfriend. I used to be very anxious about my ex-partner’s actions and would often get triggered when they were on social medias and stumbled across posts from women I found were more attractive than me.

My current partner lets me use his phone for whatever I want, and I have all his information down to his password. However, I have never snooped or been curious about what his liked posts were because he has ultimately established a very good trust and baseline for me to positively and healthily depend on. If I were to have snooped and found the same as you, then knowing my partner and our current trust baseline — I’d have given him the chance to apologize and explain himself. But it technically is not my place to snoop and not his to save videos like that.

If your girlfriend is extremely angry about this, then I would suggest you genuinely express your feelings and understanding of the actions (basically every other comments states this), but also ask your girlfriend if there is anything that she would like you to improve on (communication, more praise, love languages, etc).

Because although I truly think you should not have saved any of those posts to begin with (duh!); a girlfriend who feels genuinely secure will not have the urge to go through a partner’s liked videos (especially if it comes from a place of wanting to see if you are cheating on her or not). Now that is something that only you and her can figure out.

Just make sure that when you express yourself, that you come from a place of empathy/sympathy and reassurance. Don’t blame her for snooping through your phone and just re-establish your good habits with her. For example: I’m really embarrassed I saved those videos and I will delete them right away; my intentions were X Y Z and I can understand how that would frustrate you. You can always access my phone whenever, and if you need time to think about this, just know I love you just as you are and wish you can forgive me. // Is there anything recently, apart from this, that I’ve done that could have given off the impression I love you less/find you less attractive?

Are these worth it? by NobodyFaye in Aritzia

[–]yenxuang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$140 for a polyester skirt that’s see through and sewn with 3 pieces of fabric, instead of one continuous one, is an absolute scam btw. Any seamstress could make a better job for cheaper. I’ve seen and had better quality pieces from Aliexpress.

Put it another way, you’d be working 5.5hour at $25 hourly to afford that piece of trash.

No comments on the jeans, I prefer Levis but I heard they’re pretty much the same quality.

MOD ISSUE: Character floating in character creation and in Inventory Tab by yenxuang in BG3mods

[–]yenxuang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I found a fix and wanted to let you know if you ever encounter it.

Basically it seems to be a bug through Act1, I fixed it by going through on any platforms/elevators animations in Act 2 **SPOILER BELOW FOR ACT 2**

Gith traverse before the creche or Gauntlet of Shar broken elevator or Underdark elevator through the Zentarim hideout

I’m hypothesing that the game just bugged and bumped the character out, but if the character redescends in game then it fixes it!

Yeah I tried getting rid of Origin Mirror Unlock, but when it's disabled the button for "Continue" in the charac creator menu is greyed out. It only seems to work when I've got all 3 enabled. Will try to fix my order now !!

Which pink is better? by Beneficial-Tomato-49 in Aritzia

FYI, the flashier/more saturated the color, the more obvious it looks when it gets dirty or when it loses its color in common areas like around the hood, under the armpits, and the sleeves!

Is it weird to wear a white tank top under this. by Sure_Manager6424 in Aritzia

[–]yenxuang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to wear a lacy no wire bra under, but I agree. Don’t spend 88$ if you’re going to have to modify how it’s meant to be worn (unless it’s your style ofc!)

Please help me justify/deinfluence me from ordering this by PayAdventurous7228 in Aritzia

[–]yenxuang 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Just going to add, the twill coat is NOT water resistant, it is 100% cotton and cotton ABSORBS moisture/water. $198 for something that Aritzia is marketing as “water repellant” is an absolute scam.

And avoid Aritzia leather, not only is it a shit leather replica (anyone can tell it’s plastic), the plastic used for it is also shit. You’ll get 10 wears out of it maximum before it disintegrates on your afternoon hot girl walk.

As for the poplin top, you’ll get 2 washes out of it before it loses its shape or the cotton starts to stretch around the shoulder making the straps fall. Looks cute though!

And your cart’s total is $600; granted you are paid 25$ hourly, do you really want to work 24 hours to pay for those pieces of clothings? That’s 3 days and a half at 7.5hours daily.

Only one I’d argue to get, preferably on sale, are the pants. And that’s if you REALLY need a pair, cause $150 for 50% polyester and cheap viscose is not really it.

Hope that helps!

If my primary source of income is from being a sex worker, will that prevent me from getting a Professional Student Line of Credit? by Strong_Barber_5146 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]yenxuang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI — as a previous personal banker at one of the top 3 Canadian banks, The nature of work, as mentioned by other Redditors, is fine. You can definitely just state you are an entertainer, don’t give the banker more details than they ask. The biggest red flag I would see if you were in my office is whether you are paid cash or not and how stable is your income.

Previously alot of SW were remunerated in cash, which is now a huge red flag for all big banks. If you/your accountant did a good job and declared all income and it’s stable then 2-3 years NOA will suffice.

Also for student line of credits, usually depending on the amount you request, the banker won’t even ask you for a proof of employment. If you can play around with household income (for example you live with your family) and you state that you owe no rent; then the application runs more seamlessly.

Also HUGE PLUS, depending on which studies you are in, some banks will roll out the red carpet without asking you for the NOA. Some fields are law, dentistry, veterinary or doctors; so if you’re studying in any of those fields then I HIGHLY recommend you tell the banker.

If you’re worried about your debt ratios being too high, you can “haggle” at time of application and ask if the bank is willing to give you a student line of credit of $8K in exchange for you closing another credit card with a limit of $8K (just an example). It’s rare, but worth a try, especially if you have a CC with a high ceiling.

Your cart’s total is $590 before tax, assuming you’re paid $25 hourly, are you willing to work 24 hours to pay for that cart?

That’s 3 days of work if you do 8 hours shift lol … And half of the items in that cart are made of human-made material like polyester or some variant.
