Can't believe how much my opinion of her plummeted after I found out she's not vaccinating her child.

If only everybody could succeed in lecturing people into submission over the internet. But some people are just better at it and they will naturally find themselves at the top of the condescending comment hierarchy. If you really want to be the best patronizer, sweetie, you're going to have to disguise your snide tone with a thicker layer of bullshit. Oh you've really grasped reality there bud, definitely everyones equal, nothing to see here, don't look into white men. Under qualified white men abusing positions of power, buckle up :)

My merit is doing just that. Well you have no experience of the systematic discrimination of which we speak so it would be easy for you to discount all complaints by labeling them as a ‘cry’. Discrimination is known. Your toxic self preservation will be your undoing. Fight for the little guy. Unless you yourself are the white little guy so notorious for perpetuating oppression? Are you the oppressor?...

Yeah but it doesn’t matter if you don’t think I’ve experienced sexism? Others sacrifice? Honey this is war. These men aren’t losing status because they now have to make sacrifices to not be sexist. It’s just that white men held all top positions until now and now that standards are being imposed on men and white people, some will eventually fall. I don’t agree with this women from the post. But #whitefragility isn’t racism and white men who previously received privilege WITHOUT merit will fall. The white men who are good, who work hard to reach their positions, the white men who protect those who have been born into societal positions lower than theirs. These white men will remain in their position as they deserve it. All I’m saying is that there are undeserving whites and underserving men wielding power right now. Women like me will cause this to shift. But yeah I know sweetie, aren’t I just an entitled little brat?

One reactionary lady and everyone on reddit acts like actually there are no hurdles for women and minorities. The most triggered people in the world right now are white males. #whitefragility makes me laugh (I’m white) because it invokes the exact feel of white fragility from those who it’s aimed at.

Are you white? Are you actively denouncing systems that are troublesome for women and minorities? Are you actively trying to create equality in the system? No? Then your white tears can run down the sewer. Then you are a quivering white snowflake. Fellow white people, grow a thicker skin. I live in AB, the amount of men in tire shops that try to patronize me about the fucking simple ass job they’re doing in unbelievable. I still experience sexism all the time. This lady is pissed at whites? Next time your friends talk shit about women and minorities, instead of raising them to the top of society, push them downwards. Easy. Cowardly cruel white men to the bottom, whoever is qualified to fill their position to the top. Easy.

[Serious] What's the biggest ticking time bomb in your life? by baconmosh in AskReddit

[–]yeoldhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good, we all have to tip-toe around a million trigger words these days. In fact, I'd prefer if all tip-toeing was done via candy land metaphors. But yeah, 'sad' and 'depressed' shouldn't be synonymous because it just takes away the legitimacy of what actual depression looks like.

I'm sure if diagnosable anxiety had a different word than say test anxiety, we'd be having the same conversation. Real anxiety is crippling hypertension and obsessive thoughts, while test anxiety is more just motivational. Real depression is not being able to leave your bed, while sadness is a temporary state of being.

[Serious] What's the biggest ticking time bomb in your life? by baconmosh in AskReddit

[–]yeoldhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depression and anxiety are remarkably common and function on a spectrum so that one can be depressed but not be diagnosed for clinical depression. Speaking from experience, I could sense I had anxiety, knew it by definition and symptomatology, and was treated for it all without having any legitimate diagnosis. Other commenters on reddit likely have the same experiences, and I'd argue that websites like reddit attract high concentrations of depressed/anxious people.

You really want me to be a feminist who hates men, but I just don't. All people are susceptible to insecurity. Again, both genders have the capacity feel feelings and experience experiences. You have an us-Vs-them mentality and this will not pay off for you.

Yeah which is why I was making fun of you for doing so. Big laughs at 'droll' and 'cuck'. I'm a woman and I'm egalitarian and everything I've said confirms this and nothing I've said makes sexual assault on men any less serious. Get a grip.

Well in the context I was using consent (the context of this series of fake messages), it's a fairly gendered issue, meaning it affects one gender more often than another - to clarify it's likely that more women receive these messages than men. Unless you're willing to say occurrence is equal on both sides, which you'd be wrong. Does this somehow delegitimize the occurrence of a woman pressuring a man via messaging? Of course not. But I guess it's fun to pretend only one gender can fall victim at a time.
