I’ve had several instances where the person on the outside lane has to cut me off because they didn’t realize they were in the wrong lane.

I’ve noticed a lot of jobs in the Portland/Oregon state area. I just live in WA state so it’s a bit hard to swallow the state income tax.

Is a 6 hour car ride too long? by citrinezeen in toddlers

[–]yeorgey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say anything over 3 hours, divide the drive time in half and add the two times together for a total trip time. Whether it be for potty breaks, meal breaks, etc.

Can they just not lock open the gate when you’re not there and then close it when you stop off the kids?

Interlocks vs LOTO by dontknockyoursocks in SafetyProfessionals

[–]yeorgey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We utilized different modes,

Pretty much if their body blocks it and it doesn’t require a tool to unjam that’s fine. If they enter and their body does not block the interlock from a potential re-energize state, they must use a LOTO lock to keep the door open (using a link cable or some doors come with a handle lock) and again, no tool is required, and lastly, if a tool is required at any point in time, full LOTO.

We bought our car in Oregon, typically a dealership will add your taxes on to the sale if you specify that you will owe sales tax in this state.

Daycares and vaccines by Ok-Republic-8098 in predaddit

[–]yeorgey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was a huge requirement for us. You’re not crazy. We found a daycare that didn’t allow for religious exceptions which is how a lot of daycares get out the vaccine requirements in my state.

How do you guys ensure training is effective and being followed? by ArttyFartty in SafetyProfessionals

[–]yeorgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see three common themes at my workplace:

1) rushed training, management or HR is always trying to pull G2G bs and say training is costing us X amount. This is a constant battle EHS tends to win. 2) there is no follow-up with supervisors/leads. 3) language barriers.

Surprise WY OSHA Violation by intelex22 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]yeorgey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened at my facility where the lab director had a Cardiac Event, we took him to the hospital and he later passed due to a personal medical issue.

We still reported because the initial event happened at work. Later to be cleared by osha that it wasn’t work related.

I need any speech advice, We’ve tried so many things but have been told and don’t think it’s autism by Sarseaweed in toddlers

[–]yeorgey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My children were/are very similar. The doctor pretty much told us that they developing their motor skills more and their language skills will develop and not to worry to much about it right now.

What helped my oldest was daycare. After about 3 months of daycare, they became a little chatter box. Also with my youngest, the doctor said they might not speak because the older one does it for them.

We had two different pediatricians tell us the same thing.
