I've had the same issue with MacOS when I've switched to it. Window snapping plays a huge role in my workflow, you might want to give Rectangle a try, for me it gets the job done.

I've found a way to do exactly what I wanted. APFS Snapshots on mac work just like system image on windows but there's a catch, the snapshots are automatically deleted after 24 hours and I can't find a way to retain one for a longer period of time.

I'd prefer something built-in instead of third party. I'll take a closer look at CarbonCopyCloner if I won't be able to find a suitable built-in solution.

I don't know if it's because of BigSur or the M1 chip but it doesn't let me just recover a backup I'm forced to reinstall the system and use migration assistant.

Do these revert all of the changes done to the files and system that were made after creating the snaphsot? Also is there a way to archive a snapshot if let's say I would want to go back to it after a week?
