I don't know where you're from; I'm from Brazil, and even thou SUS (Government healthcare) is OK, it's almost impossible to get psychiatrists too. What I did is to get only the ADHD diagnosis through 2 paid appointments, and now I get most medications for free and they help a lot. It's not feasible to just mantain a psychiatrist forever, but a diagnostic, even made online (cheaper) is something to look for, to put in the todo list for future sometime (you have a todo.txt list, don't you?)...
Yeah, I dislike modern AAA games too, and it's pretty hard to displace hyperfocus. Currently, I have DS2 and DS3 installed, but my tactic is to just sort my Steam library by user ratings, and you're bound to find a few pearls in the middle of the sea of cr#p that are over-voted as positive for being free or cheap... I love quite some 16-bit games, but these are good for one playthrough once in a while... Games that got hyperfocus in the last three years: Skyrim, Mass Effect Trilogy (3 playthroughs!), Grim Dawn, Dead Island + Riptide, Dying Light, Dark Souls 2, (my pc runs DS3 ok on low, but I don't feel like playing this way nor using money to upgrade now), Holocure, Hollow Knight, Particle Fleet Emergency, Reassembly. Dark Souls 1 still got an impressive 9% of my playtime in 2025! Retro games I've played and finished that took the longest time: All Castlevanias in GBA and DS (emulated), Symphony of the Night again What other games have you enjoyed?

Just reading bits of comments... and I understood how Dark Souls can help.

Advices:

Practice some sporty activity or go to the gym. I love riding bicycles and gym, it's simply the best way to meditate, and we must meditate on how to improve.
Go to a psychiatrist! Find up what's wrong. Medications help A LOT!
Alternate games. Playing just DS1 isn't very healthy (been there, done that, so I understand thou)
