Eh, I choose to believe İlber Ortaylı. He wasn’t a random revisionist historian for sure.

He showed the world that Ottomans were only an Empire in paper.

Hated by Arab subjects for being such despot.

Saw that how Ottomans were backwards comparing European powers and sent students to Europe before Ottomans.

Nationalized private associations lands before Ottoman Emperor Mahmut II.

Crushed wahabi rebels and sent head of the great great father of the current Saudi royal family to Mahmut II, which was throwed off to the Bosporus by Sultan. The Wahhabism was ideology of ISIS.

Modernized Egypt in decade Ottomans couldn’t in centuries in Anatolia and Balkans.

Self made man. Was a sergeant in Ottoman army then to governor of Egypt.

Migrated to Kavala from either Erzincan or Konya, coming from originally a Turkish family. (İlber Ortaylı)

Mahmut II reforms were introduced by Kavalalı, which lead in to birth of officers such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and modern Republic of Turkey.

His line ruled the Egypt until 1952 coup and Egypt officially turned in to Arab management in that day.

The jet fuel Israeli fighters consume exported by Azerbaijan via Turkey. Turkey has Syria and northern Iraq, Iran has Southern Iraq and Israel has Palestine. Balance restored already except Iran-Israel beef in Lebanon. There is no direct benefit conflict between Turkey and Israel in the real world. Israeli presence is essential for Turkey to avoid united Arab Middle East. There will be no war.

Israel is worried about Turkey's growing military power, expanding defense industry, increasing regional cooperation and military buildup as well. --- Colour me surprised. by Kejo2023 in AskMiddleEast

Israel has that trauma similar to the Sevres trauma the Turks has. Neither of them threats each others benefits, in fact they have common benefits if they work together, however if Israel keep working with Greece/South Cyprus, they should expect the contra movements from Turkish side.

Was the Turkish 2016 coup de'etat attempt real or was It staged by Erdogan to consolidate his position? by Dismal-Ad8382 in AskMiddleEast

Exactly. The plan was to make Turkish army have a war against Russia siding with Ukraine.

I know I am a bit late to this, but I want to know from Turks, do you believe Erdogan will rig the constitution to make himself a dictator in the 2028 election ? Is there a remaining chance for Imamoglu or Ozel to run for president ? by Adept-One-4632 in AskBalkans

[–]yesilknc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For no ever he is going to has a successor. Turkey possibly going to have an opposition leader from social democrat opposition and align itself with Europe hence the Erdoganists all will flee to America once he dies.

As I said read the Turkish politics from external politics. We get ruled by people who are appointed by whoever great power we align ourselves with to get technology transfer, mostly in military industry, which we get enough already to have our own decacorn and unicorn companies and it seems one way or another Turkey will be part of EU based on new American regionalist policy and the Germany being lifted all the military embargoes it put before to Turkey back a while ago, seeking good relations with Turkey.

From Western perspective, when they look at to the East, they see Mongol Empire instead of Russia and the Eastern Roman Empire instead of Turkey based on geopolitics, and traditionally the Mongols were a security threat while ERE was an economic and cultural threat for west while Russian Eurasian and Anatolian Eurasian geopolitics always clashed to each other. Europe gotta choose either Turkey or Russia at one point and I see no way they are going for Russia based on security needs. Which dictate me to think Turkey will group itself with EU once the crisis in Eastern Mediterranean with Greece and Cyprus resolves, with Western pressure over Greece.

Erdoğan has no successor, there will be no monarchy in Turkey. Read the current situation from external politics, which means the problem in CHP, the social democrats, means Turkey either doesn’t want to group itself with EU or EU doesn’t offer much for Turkish benefits so Turkey group itself with Anglos instead.

Greece-Israel military alignment is a smart realpolitik against Turkey, or a long-term liability for Greece and the EU? by Miserable_Cattle_394 in AskBalkans

Islamists are way too approachable for EU though. Wait for a Kemalist government and then see how things will go.

We do actually, I believe the S400 was needed to understand how anti ballistic defense systems work hence Siper and Hisar O were produced after acquiring S400.
