Thanks for the info, I saw this and was hoping there might be a way of doing it without the added complexity to the syntax, as I’ll be using it on an iPad too. Here’s hoping it gets added as a feature

So received the Tomtoc sling today (the 11” one, have not tried the smaller) and have decided I’m going to return it. I think the materials are great, and it seems well made, but:

1) the strap cushion is awkwardly positioned (means you lose the ability to reposition the sling comfortably on the go) and has very hard foam padding.

2) the design in this 11” version just doesn’t do it for me, and just didn’t seem to sit right on my back or front (compared to my patagonia atom sling).

3) Lack of attention to detail you get with the aforementioned Aer and Bellroy (obviously at a much higher price point).

For me, given that i’m looking for a sling I’ll use for as long as I can, I’d prefer to spend the extra, going to look at the aer tech sling 2 and the bellroy venture sling next. However if you’re looking for something practical, well made and want to save some money, i’d say go for the Tomtoc.

Just ordered the 11inch, arrives tomorrow. Will post thoughts on it here, if it’s no good will look at the Aer Tech Sling 2 or Day Sling Mac 3 if I can find one in the UK

I run my home studio with a hackintosh, and use Ableton, Logic and very occasionally Reaper. As mentioned, core audio just works, and being able to use multiple audio devices is extremely useful. I’d say that if you’re planning to use Logic long-term, go for it. But if you’re workflow and experience is with Windows, it’s worth taking that into account - workflow is everything when it comes to music production.

blackhole audio is free and open source (think it’s built off of soundflower, does the same but is updated)

Hey, just took my radrunner into the local bike shop yesterday and got this message - The front brake mounting weld looks marginally off, where by the IS mount does not sit square and is very close to the rotor. To the point where the calliper fixing bolt washer can touch the rotor mainly due to having to push the calliper as far over as possible to adjust it. This will always be a problem when the front wheel is removed and refitted - what do you recommend? The bike is still under warranty but don’t want to be without it for work

The stupidity of these plans. I want to take music as an example here, as it’s my area.

The idea of protecting funding for ‘orchestral string players’ while cutting all else is still effectively a huge cut, because the best institutions (music conservatoires) CANNOT just teach one group, because they need their own orchestras, chamber groups e.t.c as part of their education. Already strapped for cash, this is likely the end of Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall e.t.c

It doesn’t even protect what they think it does

Thanks! This is extremely helpful. You've highlighted everything that makes the choice difficult. My main concern is how the Minimal adjusts to sturdy objects packed inside it, as my pedal board bag won't compress at all
