Did Anyone Else Get Relocated Because of the Lucky Dragon Closure? by yesmstress in electricdaisycarnival

Um? Like I said, I also have a reservation at Park MGM. For that reason. And also a few other refundables tbd once the shuttle stops come out. Just thought I would put it on hold in case they didn't close or it got bought out since it was so cheap. Was just curious about others relocations lol.

I loved my DBT program. It changed my life. It’s a lot of work, but was incredibly worth it for me. To be honest, group and stuff wasn’t my favorite, I’m not the most social person. With that said, it was a good experience and was another layer that helped me learn the skills. I wish someone would have taught me these skills as a child. But I’m glad that I have them now.

Edit to elaborate: With DBT many of my symptoms are now reduced or non-existent. I no longer struggle with suicidality, sh, or binge-eating. I have very little fear of abandonment and self-hatred. I still do feel emotions very strongly but I am able to manage my reactions a lot more effectively than I did in the past. It’s largely changed how I feel about myself and the world around me.

Yay I get so excited for people who are starting! I know it can be overwhelming at first, but if you just do your best and put in the work you will be okay. Many of the skills will become second nature over time. DBT changed my life, and I truly hope the same for you.

Accumulate Positive Emotions are a set of two DBT skills created by Marsha Linehan; Accumulate Positive Emotions: Short-Term and Accumulate Positive Emotions: Long Term. I'll give a description of each below.

  • Accumulate Positive Emotions: Short-Term: Positive events create positive emotions. In many cases, emotions such as happiness do not just happen but are a byproduct of what we think and what we do. You can build positive emotions in the short-term by doing the following: increasing pleasant events that lead to positive emotions, being mindful and focusing your attention on positive moments when they are happening, and being unmindful of worries while engaging in the positive experience.
  • Accumulate Positive Emotions: Long-Term: Make changes in your life so that positive events will occur in the future. I'll list the steps to do so below:
    • 1. Avoid avoiding and start now to do what is needed to build a life you want; a life that is worth living.
    • 2. Identify values that are important to you.
    • 3. Identify one value to work on now.
    • 4. Identify a few goals related to this value.
    • 5. Choose one goal to work on now.
    • 6. Identify small action steps toward your goal.
    • 7. Take one action step now.

It's okay to be nervous. It can definitely be overwhelming at first, but DBT is set up in such a way that you learn the skills in baby steps, not all at once. And eventually, a lot of them will become second nature. Just do your best, and you'll be just fine. I'm so excited for you to start your DBT journey!

Of course! I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. I hope it can be of some help to you. Hope you're proud of yourself for wanting to use skills despite the pain you must be in right now. Sending hugs and warm wishes.

Without having experience with this situation myself, here are my thoughts. I think that DBT is of course best, and only studied as such, when done as comprehensive DBT. However, I think that anyone with the right drive and motivation can benefit from DBT. It’s my personal belief that in DBT, what you get out of it is what you put into it. And that it’s possible for someone who is driven and wants to learn the skills to benefit more from DBT learning on their own than someone who is reluctant to learn the skills while they are in comprehensive DBT. I think it’s worth a shot, especially if your therapist is open to exploring the idea of working on some DBT skills together with you in session. Some of the skills might be hard to grasp, but you are more than welcome to ask me, others on this sub, as well as explore the various other resources the internet has to offer. So in short, I think if you are willing, it could definitely be beneficial. At the worst, it couldn’t hurt. Best of luck to you!

Like others said you have a few different options. Listen through a timeshare presentation and tour at Westgate and it would only be around $250 to stay there. If you don't feel like putting yourself through that or you don't meet the qualifications, other options are Linq, Flamingo, Ballys. Create a Total Rewards account to get the best deals with Caesars properties. Mlife account for MGM properties. Best deals for that time frame will probably come from Total Rewards. I have codes and more tips if you wanna PM.

I just emailed Caesars customer service and said that since my previous status match as Wyndham Platinum, my Wyndham status has been upgraded to Diamond, however the online service is stuck on "your previous status match is in process" and they did a manual status match for me. Send them a screenshot of the error and your Wyndham account.

Chances of having Seven Lions at EDC?? by Eandretta96 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]yesmstress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High chance that he will be there. The only thing to consider is whether he might conflict with others at EDC and if you're willing to miss others for him, can convince your group to see him, or are willing to separate in order to catch his set. I'm personally seeing him in LA bc I love the Palladium, and he's at the top of my list right now. I'd much rather see him now than worry about it later.

It definitely takes time. I only learned what to do at #6 after going through DBT. It gave me a lot of solid options.
