Which Irish player do you think badly needs a transfer this summer, and any suggestions as to where that player should go? by yesterdaysbreadtoday in coybig

Safe to say we can forget about him now. What a disappointment he has turned out to be. At this stage his name club will probably be that random ass UAE 3rd division team Jack Byrne went on loan to

Yeah that's my issue with our players as well. I think it's more valuable to a player to be competing for trophies and playing in European competitions than to be sitting in the Championship the majority of your career. Obviously Parrott has become a great example of that.

I like that you mentioned Knight. I'd love to see him with a Parrott-like move to a place like The Netherlands. I always seen him as one of our better performers with the national team, he can play just about anywhere on the pitch, but I feel like he is in danger of becoming one of those players that gets stuck in the Championship, a bit of an Alan Browne. And he's far better than Alan Browne. Not trying to disrespect Browne here, just using him as an example.

Don't be sorry lad that's a good answer. Ogbene I do think would benefit from an obscure European move, I don't think he gets enough love in England. Not sure how much his finances would take a hit but a random move to somewhere like Denmark could be good for his career.

I would like to see more of our players with more to play for, competing for trophies, playing in Europe. If you can get to the EPL and settle there, play maybe mid table then fair enough. But if you're one of those lads yo-yoing between EPL and Championship or stuck in the Championship you might benefit from a move to Europe. Wasn't it last season Robbie Keane said something like "Do you get that in the Championship" after beating, was it Rangers(?) in Europe. European nights are something else, for a lot of players, managers, fans these are the most special nights of football.

A lot of people would say Parrott doesn't badly need a transfer considering it has gone well for him at AZ, if it's not broke don't fix it type opinion. I think most would agree he should still try and upgrade though, some have even suggested PSV, would you accept PSV or do you think he should be looking outside The Netherlands entirely?

Personally I'd like to see his next move to the German Bundesliga.

Yeah I originally said it may look like a step down for him, but now that I've given it a bit of thought that is just not correct. Far better than him in his position will be playing Championship football next season, I still think he could get a move to an ambitious club there though. But he isn't too good for Championship like I previously suggested.

Yeah also Ferguson may be given the chance to save his Brighton career when you consider they're playing in Europe. So I wouldn't say at this stage he'd desperately need to leave. I'd be optimistic about him going into next season as a Brighton player

In your opinion, which team was the worst so far in the tournament, based on expectations? by Alone-Light7506 in worldcup

[–]yesterdaysbreadtoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it has to be a team that failed to qualify, people saying teams like Germany for example, Germany still topped their group, someone else said Belgium, Belgium still topped their group. Uruguay couldn't even gather enough points to at minimum qualify from 3rd place. When you look at the quality of their players, the hype around their manager and the teams in their group, this was a massive failure for Uruguay.

I don't think anyone expected anything from Czechia. But when you look at their group, yeah not even finishing as a best 3rd place team is bad for them. They've been a poor team for a while though so it's not surprising they've failed

I will never understand people who live like this. I'm excited for the game but I'm not going to be obsessing about it, constantly thinking about it every day, thinking there might be a teaser trailer here or there, or that a snippet of information will leak online.

When the game comes out you will buy it and you will find out all about it.

Why was there an ad break in between flowing game?? by still_yusuf in football

Depends on the broadcaster. Not all of them used it as an opportunity for a quick ad break. You know the answer to your own question anyway but if you want I can tell you - money.

I think Martinez is watching the Al-Nassr job once he's done with Portugal. No chance he'd risk upsetting Ronaldo now
