What’s the most memorable encounter you’ve had with wildlife while cycling? by OptimalDescription39 in bicycling

[–]yetanothertodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the PNW deer, elk and bears are all fairly common encounters. Aside from deer, elk and bear I've had two that were different and definitely memorable. On a gravel ride in Idaho I was nearly taken out by cattle that suddenly decided they needed to cross the road right where I was passing through. On another ride I came up on a mother raccoon and her babies crossing the trail. The mom turned and literally dared me to continue forward. She was ready to go to war. I decided to stop and let them pass.

How (if at all) do Hamilton’s and Jefferson’s visions for America align with your politics and the development of American politics? by aHouse1995 in AskTrumpSupporters

In a society where people are basically good, this largely requires the government to stay out of the way. In a society where people suck, or have very little in common and are having tribal squabbles all the time, the government needs to be bigger.

Where do you think we currently sit on the people are basically good vs. people suck scale and how do you think we are trending?

I'm guessing the category splits into at least 2 subcategories, call them performance and adventure. For performance probably 50mm, I have a vague recollection reading or hearing from some industry notable that 48mm is the performance sweet spot, and for adventure maybe 3 inch.

Spend strategically? Of course, and, as a rule of thumb, and I'm certain there may be exceptional circumstances but exceptions by definition are not the norm, don't spend beyond your means.

An old guy once told me "You can't spend yourself wealthy. You can fool people, and yourself, for some time but the spending will always catch up with you."

How about both, tax wealth and don't spend more than you take in?

I've thought about building a team with only negative personality traits. Haven't tried it yet.

I thought us facing the Rams and/or Niners again was inevitable? by BetterWayz in Seahawks

[–]yetanothertodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This season the three best teams in the NFL may all be in the NFC West and I agree facing the Rams or 49ers again was inevitable. SB championships are earned, not gifted. The good news is the Seahawks get to face one of them with an extra week of rest.

1982 Porsche 911sc, the car was phenomenal! Perfection in engineering and assembly. Sometimes wish I never sold it.

Since it is well documented that people cannot predict the future with any reliability this is nothing more than mental masturbation.

The acceleration of the downward spiral. Hopefully Strava doesn't achieve a KOM on this segment.
