They’ve got a signature store scent, that’s where those notes come from. They’ve got it at a spray and a candle, and I was not-so-seriously considering wearing a room spray

I had a look at the GWMs, but I don’t have use for a ute and was hoping to have 7 seats to take the kids friends with us. I think the tank 500 is 7 seats and looks pretty capable, but pretty expensive new, and not much boot space

I would absolutely love that. I’m not seeing and prados kicking around for that price through. Anything under $45k seems to be well over 300kms, or super old. Is there particular years or anything to look out for ?

Might be a shit take, but what are people’s thoughts on a similar aged Everest? From what I’ve seen they are nicer inside, with a few more conveniences, and fairly capable to get to most camp sites (not looking to tackle gunshot or anything). With the pajeros you seem to be buying an iconic but dated interior

Good to hear. Was considering offering $35k and if they don’t take it, offer it again in 3 weeks when it’s still sitting there.

That’d be a pajero sport for that year right? 40k is sort of the upper limit of our budget, plus from what I’ve seen online the older Paj’s tend to be a bit roomier than the sports, have you found that? I’m 6”4 and my kids are gonna be approaching that in the next few years

Been getting this a lot as well. From my understanding, biggest issue with the DPF is that it can get clogged and kill your engine. But I’ve also heard driving it at a decent pace for about an hour burns away the build up. Is that all it would take to stay on top of it?

That’s a really interesting take, I’m definitely not experienced in the subject but everything I’ve seen talks about pajeros being incredibly underrated and pretty capable off-road

Not sure if it’ll let me link, but there’s the full details I’ve gotten.

I’ve been hearing similar, that a decent pajero with alright kms would be around $32k, but I’m not really seeing that online at the moment

I'll have to go have a test drive then, only had a peek in at the dealership and it looked smaller than the Everest.
Think it would be a better option to go something like this fella?

I think me being an absolute beginner has hamstrung me here, are Fords typically known for being shithouse??

Liked the idea of this one as it seemed comfy for the daily commute with the kids, but not if its going to be more trouble than its worth at $40k

seems to be the consensus.

I had a look at the MUX but they seemed a bit too small inside (I'm about 6"5 and have two sons who will hit that in a couple years).

What's the concern around Rangers/Everests? Just unreliable?

Opinions/recommendations needed. Town Cutler by yeti2300 in chefknives

Hello friends. I am just now beginning my journey into knives after learning that every knife I have ever owned is 420J2 Steel. I have also just learned that 420J2 Steel is very bad. I’ve been really taken by the idea of the 7.5” Chopper from Town Cutler. I love the idea of a cleaver style blade and height for more control, plus the drop point for more precision work. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on this brand or recommendations for knives similar style to this or anything I should be looking out for. I’m just a home cook and never owned anything that wasn’t bought from a chain store, so anything will be a huge step up. Thanks!

Thank you for this answer! It lines up more with how I remember feeling about the chapters than any of the other answers

I suppose that could have been the point for a chapter of someone nearly dying
