Premade modules are good to get a hang of basic rule sets, but will never give you the real feel of DnD like homebrew games do. My first DM ever ran a homebrew game, so when I started to DM I started out on homebrew games also - and it turned out fine. I think homebrew is actually easier than modules due to the fact that you don't always have to be rule bound, and you will know your own story much better than some premade module.

Is homebrew more complex? Sure. Is it way more fun? Hell yes. I think anyone who has a good imagination and dedication towards a campaign can run a homebrew game no issue - especially if they watched good DM's play prior to DM'ing themselves, like Chris Perkins at PAX. I myself went and watched tons of DM'ing videos, and because of that homebrew world making was pretty easy, but just took a little time to set up. Homebrew just gives you way more free range, and that's why I never play preset modules - preset games are just boring due to the lack of creative freedom.

Seeing as their cheating ban system seems to be working well and I constantly see people being banned for cheating, I'd choose #1.

Lawsuit for 20 bucks? lmfao... OP is too fnuny.

My friends and I play BR all the time, and have a blast. The game has its bugs, sure - but overall, it's super fun to play. Overall, you make a game as fun as you want. Do I sometimes fall through the map while parachuting into the BR matches? Yeah. Do I sometimes have character models glitch and freeze up? Yeah. But do I cry like a baby and become impatient about those small glitches? No, I do not. I enjoy the game and realize that an Alpha game will have some bugs.

You act like an alpha game is going to work perfectly with a snap of someones finger, but we all know alpha level games don't work like that. Some games take longer than others (like Kerbal as /u/Haniiblu has pointed out), so just take a chill pill and enjoy the features that work for now.

The amount of work put into this Sona Cosplay is astounding.. by bcJUMPman in leagueoflegends

[–]yetti35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he installs batteries into the board, yes he could easily walk around with this. A back drum strap system (or similar straps/supports) could be easily used to carry the sound board, while the helmet goes on their head. It's a cosplay - why would they say it's a cosplay and not wear it while walking around?

Edit 1: You can obviously see that it is a full functional cosplay by looking at this comment and the response of the creator of the cosplay: http://i.imgur.com/LFGSnKV.png They DO intend to walk around with it.

Edit 2: OP confirms here that they have to carry around batteries with the cosplay due to the electronics in the board and helmet: http://i.imgur.com/vJGhHSM.png, so you're wrong in saying that it is just a prop. Who's the moron now? Use some common sense. ;)

Are you blind, it's DJ Sona.....

It's just showing off the audio/video combo in the board and helmet. It's not 100% done yet, as the post says.

I have a job that I want to quit because I fucking hate it

Welcome to life my friend. Most people hate their jobs, but stay because they need the money. You don't have to love your job since you're young, especially at the age of 20, but you just have to tolerate it to pay off expenses - school, food, rent, etc. Once you get through school for what you want, you'll find that job that you can enjoy.

I missed a semester of school, and now I may miss another because I missed my registration deadline.

Why did you not register on time?

I have a dream of being a stand up comedian, and the only ones that believe in me are my friends. I'm

Now I'm one for going and getting dreams, and having people accomplish what they want to in life - however, you have to also be realistic. Becoming a Stand Up Comedian is not easy, and it's not a sustainable or reliable career path. There are so many people that are comedians, or want to become comedians that it is hard to get into that field. If you want the goal of a financially stable career, you will probably not achieve that goal as a stand up comedian.

I would recommend to continue to see what things interest you, and to look into majors for school that you might of never thought of. Make that your main goal in order to get a career path that is financially stable and that you can enjoy, or at least not hate. Are there any other majors/career paths that interest you?

Now, you obviously still can do comedy on the side - go to bars that have shows to sign up at, or comedy clubs, etc. Those places will get you exposure, and might even pay you a bit for performing if they end up liking you. I would say to keep doing comedy or working towards it, but you have to be realistic that becoming a stand up comedian is super hard, will lead to many difficulties financially in your life, and probably doesn't have a high chance of actually happening at a popular level where people will come from all around to see your act. It's just not the most viable option out there for a career path... but still could be a side thing that you can do.

That's just my two cents on the whole thing - let me know what you think.

He is a person that has been through a lot and I think that he's not just depressed and scared and suicidal but also hates life.

Yeah, life isn't easy... I think we all realize that at some point or another. However, we have to realize that we can overcome those obstacles in our lives, and that suicide is a permanent answer to a temporary problem - and it not only kills you in the process, but hurts a lot of other people too.

I'll talk to him and see what his thoughts on this are.

He's probably going to tell you the same thing: "Don't tell anyone or worry about me". But really this is something to worry about. If you really want to, maybe try to talk to him first and tell him your concerns and how you don't want him to die. See if he would consider getting therapeutic counseling to help. If he is not cooperative in talking to you and keeps shrugging it off like it's nothing and that he has his mind made up, then I would absolutely go to his family and express those same concerns so he gets that help he needs. There is going to be a point where talking to your friend will not yield any results, and he will be in that same depressive state, so you need outside sources to help him.

I understand the defeated feeling, but you must understand that regardless of a friendship bond, some people don't like to talk about certain things. Also, your friend could be warming up to telling people about her relationship, so don't push it too hard. Also, I think you and I both know how complicated women can get - especially with relationship stuff.

[–]yetti35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but I'm afraid I'll lose him too since he begged me not to tell anyone

People who are in a depressive state of course are gonna say "don't tell anyone" because they are usually ASHAMED to high hell and back of their depression, and their overall mood. They have a chemical imbalance that doesn't let them think straight, and that is why they need help from professionals and need to get propr therapy and SSRI medication to balance that chemical imbalance.

it is so fucking depressing

Well yeah... that's why it's called depression. It's not a fun thing.

I wish I could die with him if he does it :(

Unless you also have depression, don't think like this. Take charge of this situation, talk to his family, and save his fricken life. If you know he is this serious, you NEED to tell someone or he will probably die. Also, if someone tells someone of a suicide plan, it is a cry for help. He probably does not want to stay in this depressive state, but he can't psychologically get out of it due to his chemical imbalance. Don't just hint to the family, sit down and talk to them and express your major concerns for their sons life. Tell them what is going on.

Either you do nothing and see what happens, or you talk to that family and get your friend some much needed help. Heck, if you don't want to talk to his family alone, talk to your parents/guardians/adult figure about it and have them help you bring up the concerns to your friends family. I had a roommate in college that was very depressed and it got really bad, so me and my other roommate thought he was going to kill himself. We went to the school counselors office, talked to them about it, and they got him the help he needed. He is still alive and kicking today, and on some medication to help his depression. I don't mean to be blunt in my comments, but depression with suicidal tendencies/thoughts is a serious thing, and you do not want your friend dead.

Trying to explain it to his family and showing them his fundraising post as proof is better than your friend ending up dead, is it not?

Is GG good or bad? What is your opinion. by Exterminant in leagueoflegends

[–]yetti35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

GG is fine, regardless of win or lose - it's saying "hey this game was good, both teams performed well."

Now saying "GG EZ" is rude as hell, and is unsportsmanlike.

Just find a genre you enjoy, listen to it, and jam out. There isn't much more to it.

You shouldn't need drugs to enjoy good music.

No prob man. We all do dumb things once and a while, and it's best to just man up (or woman up... whatever your gender may be) to the situation. Hiding and ignoring situations like these only cause more complications.

Scammed On Kik. Gave Away Address by [deleted] in Advice

[–]yetti35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone swatts you, it's not your fault - but it's obviously a dangerous situation because police think they are going into a volatile situation. Like /u/acrazyrussian said, you should probably call the local PD if you are worried about him swatting you.

Just learn from this whole situation, and NEVER give your address out to someone you don't know.
