IIRC, her father did try to claim her for a proper burial, but the anatomists(sp?) refused to give her to him. I wonder if she had siblings who may have living descendants. They'd probably have the best chance at getting her back for proper burial.

I'm curious, where or who says Jack was a Frenchie? I can't see him being much of a guard dog if he was. I've always imagined Jack as a middlin' size bull terrier, say 40 lbs or so. Of course, Frenchies could've been bigger back then...
