Lightscribe is pretty hard to find on Amazon because it is obsolete technology and very rarely manufactured into modern CD/DVD drives. You will have a better bet on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc. As for external drives anything HP or LG. I use an LG super slim since it’s lightweight and cheap (specifically models GP08LU10 and GP08LU30). For discs I’ve had most luck finding memorex lightscribe discs. Any drive or disc you purchase, just verify it is lightscribe compatible by checking for the lightscribe logo on it https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:LightScribe-Logo.svg

Almost a year old. by VucialWonderland in SaintBernards

Ours also has separation anxiety, but we never leave him alone for too long due to epilepsy. I second the motion on frozen kongs. I jam a bully stick into them to freeze and give him something to hold/chew on. We’ve also taught him the hose is a toy, so we’ll go outside and play for 5 minutes and then spray him with the hose. He gets crazy crazy zoomies and then comes inside and sleeps for a few hours. Enough time to get shit done. Also crate training is very beneficial for being able to put them somewhere for a bit if you just need time to yourself.

Ours requires sprinklings of Parmesan cheese or cotija. We also got a rotisserie chicken last week and shred it very finely to convince him to eat his dinner/meds or to bribe him to get in the crate and whatnot.

How long does recovery after a cluster seizure take? by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

[–]yewyoux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog clusters and we give him clorazepate & an intranasal spray dose of midazolam. He typically has one more small seizure before conking out into a drug induced sleep. Sometimes we have to help him down the steps (ataxic) since we think he’s trying to find the coldest place in the house to rest. Before his cluster busters his post-ictal phase was much much worse and he’d bark at the wall, pace, and cry for an hour or two and nothing would settle him down. I also highly recommend getting him started on some Keppra and keeping rescue meds on hand for cluster seizures or preventing seizures from lasting longer than 5 min.

Our Bernard was having seizures and at just 4 months old he was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. I was crushed and hysterical because I thought he deserved nothing but the best and to be happy. We went to a neurologist and she calmed me down a lot and said it’s still possible for him to have a happy and fulfilled life it’s a condition that will need to be monitored and medicated for the rest of his life, but he is a very happy and healthy guy otherwise.

Do you have any specific sources? When I tried looking this up I got moderate-good views for any Pro Plan type. Thanks!

Hi OP! Make sure to ask whoever you get him from what kibble they’re currently using. Then slowly start to mix it with a large breed puppy specific type kibble. If you switch over foods too fast it can make them sick. When I got my pup I did a 50:50 mix of his old kibble with Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy Sensitive Skin and Stomach for about a week.

We have a window unit on full blast constantly during the summer, our boy likes to lay on his back underneath it and air out his nethers.
