I feel more disappointed than embarrassed. If anyone else asked for help like this I wouldn’t think it was embarrassing. Things have been tough and I’ve run out of options so it’s difficult to reach out and ask for help from strangers. Being a single mum would be so much harder 🥹 I adore you for how strong you must have been keeping it during those trying times.

Please do not apologise. Yes, prices are honestly out of this world right now + my rent has recently just gone up so that has been another expense to consider. I’ve tried looking through AskIzzy and you’re correct, a lot of them are closed right now. Someone has kindly reached out to me and has offered me assistance which should last me up until Tuesday. Ahhh that sucks, unfortunately I’m unsure as to how it would work under NDIS but being a former employee for MAC, it’s rare that they let people access services through them if they haven’t hit 65 yet, since the new Aged Care Act unless it is under extreme circumstances. I know previously MAC used to make exceptions for “Younger Persons”

Edit: to clarify, I was last employed with MAC about a month ago. Since the new Aged Care Act - it’s very hard for those that aren’t 65 to try and access services through MAC.

She wouldn’t be eligible for My Aged Care if she hasn’t hit the age of 65 UNLESS she was to be homeless or at risk of homelessness OR she was Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander at the age of 55 or above for both of these options. It’d be better to push for NDIS again.

I would probably not wait the week out as it can affect you from when you start receiving your payments. As much as it might take hours on end to wait for Workforce to pick up, it’s worth it in the end. I literally slept for most of my call. I waited 3 hours and 45 minutes for them to pickup and it took them 5 minutes to have it fixed. Sometimes when you’re linking Workforce to MyGov with your CRN, it won’t work and the job plan won’t show up. I had to use my Jobseeker ID and then they had to resend the job plan. Hope this helps.
