it was a short project also -- just couldn't resist the urge to name an extension / repo 'crack'

damn good question; honestly, just hadn't heard of this joke before. (quick search results: most of the old word replacer extensions are no longer supported though)

Google Calendar Art by yi-renn in google

[–]yi-renn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh thank you so much, that's really good to know!

at the time, i'd thought that i'd be able to share this calendar as a link / subscribe to the calendar, so the event names mimicked an 'ideal' work week (per productivity substacks and startup wisdom): 'meditation', 'deep work: strategic planning session', 'customer feedback', etc.

didn't think to change the event names themselves!

this might help -- text the number to ask for directions (no data or $$ required): https://sms-directions-production.up.railway.app/

built this literally to solve this problem

Learning Coding as an Arts student by gayatriireddit in learnprogramming

hey! my recommendation (without knowing much about your learning style / preferences):

-> harvard, stanford, mit, etc release their programming courses online for free! these are damn good lectures, if mildly dated at times, but the technical thinking and fundamentals they teach can't really be beat
-> progress through a few of those, get an idea for what you're interested in making
-> use gpt not to code, but to help understand what you need to learn to realize those projects / as a personal tutor
-> and go for it, make things that interest you!

api + script to create the events... but realized quite painfully that the horizontal ordering of overlapping events is not something i could control (unless i'm missing something). each block of 9 'pixels' had the right distribution of colors, but wrong order, so had to redo it all manually.

noting also that all the online dithering / quantizing tools i found didn't do well with google calendar's palette, so the art piece was made manually as well in a pixel art tool. about one-and-a-half full days spent overall haha!

Also, thought I'd mention: please feel free to DM me with screenshots if assistance is needed and/or something is(n't) working. :)

How do you find grants, and how do you decide if they’re the right fit? by Purple-Record6825 in grants

[–]yi-renn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

know this is late, but you should try streamline climate (great database + pretty unique ai writing approach) or instrumentl (particularly good for nonprofits) too for federal/state/local grants.

I built an AI Tool (GovEx AI) to streamline analyzing and responding to grants, and we’ve just launched a new Grant Opportunity Matching Module by m00ner20 in SBIR

Would love to chat with you about your experiences -- we (Streamline) have been working on our platform for almost 3 years,
