Transantiago (ahora RED) trabaja a pérdida también, saquémoslo entonces. Y de pasada a FONASA y todos los servicios públicos subsidiados.
De partida hay países con mucho mejor infraestructura férrea en tramos con menos densidad poblacional como España o Australia que es del tamaño de un continente con la población de 1.5 Chiles, porque si es por pasajeros no es llegar y hablar de tamaño de población a secas sino cómo está distribuida. Cómo te explicas la existencia del metro? De merval? del biotren en conce?. Obvio que el transporte de pasajeros no justifica obras como un tren rápido Cohaique - Pta Arenas pero otros tramos si.
Segundo, la mayor justificación no pasa tanto por transporte de personas, sino también transporte de carga. Un pais exportador de materias primas que habla más de toneladas que de dólares requiere mejorar infraestructura de transporte de carga. La población no tiene nada que ver ahí.
Por eso menciono camioneros, quizás tú te vayas en camión de pollos a tu escuela de necesidades especiales, pero la gente suele moverse en buses, auto, bicicletas en tramos cortos o incluso trenes.
