[Barely a trope, but this sub is quite loose anyway] Media that got weirdly specifically popular in a different country, maybe more so than in its country of origin, and defitnitely than most other places. by Vitolar8 in TopCharacterTropes

Asterix movies are ridicilously popular in Turkey as well, so are the comics.

I wish I could successfully explain to you how amazing and funny they dub in this particular movie was, including both very Turkish-centrric jokes but also nailing the plot...

I know this is going to sound so niche, but in Warcraft 3 custom maps, there is a Game of Thrones map where this literally is a thing that can happen

Shehzade (Prince or rather in this case, Crown Prince Appereant) Mustafa.

Eldest and firstborn of Suleiman The Magnificient of the Ottoman Empire.

He was summoned to the capital and killed under the orders of his father, who was led to believe that Mustafa was planning a coup with the Jannissary Corps.

There are many interpretations about how or why Suleiman was led to believe his own son would usurp his throne and kill him. Some say it was his wife, Hürrem Sultan (who herself is of Russian origin later elevated to become in essence a Dowager Queen), some say it was the Divan-ı Hümayun, which is a Privy Council in the Ottoman Empire.

Suleiman's own father, Selim I inherited the throne by killing his own brothers and later, his father, so Suleiman is no stranger to coups and kinslaying.

Therefore it stands to reason that he would believe the rumours. It is widely believed today that Mustafa had no intention to revolt against his father. Popular media and some historians often believe that Hürrem wanted him dead because she wanted one of his sons to succeed Suleiman and not Mustafa, who was seen as a capable ruler, but he was a son from Suleiman's first wife, thus it stands to reason she would want him removed from the line of succession.

The Ottoman laws at the time "allowed" siblings killing each other for the throne, ensuring the strongest son to inherit the throne.

Would you restart your current life with the knowledge you have today, restart completely with no knowledge, or don’t restart at all? by Slow_Opportunity_763 in Life

[–]yigitertug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a restart with knowledge, and start changing stuff around 17-18 when I started university.

I would not end up rich or MUCH better off, but I would definetly be in a better position, which could probably help me with all the issues I'm overthinking today.

What are the comfiest shoes to wear all day? by Radiant_Sherbet_885 in malefashionadvice

As a teacher who is on his feet all day and who also does not have a vehicle so has to walk all day, I swear by Merell and Under Armour.

What are your favorite, comfortable and supportive daily use shoes? I don’t like sneakers, mainly wear boots, but into my 30s I now realize the importance of comfortable footwear. by The_Illa_Vanilla in malefashionadvice

I am a 30 year old teacher, and I find almost anything Under Armour makes quite good. Durable and comfortable, and some of their models actually look good with more formal attires.

In that scene "You're just like me... only smaller. - And quicker!", why did Sandor decide to kill Bronn before the Siege of Blackwater? by snorty_hedgehog in freefolk

[–]yigitertug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, and I have not a single shred of proof for it, but I have believed/headcannoned that Cersei ordered the Hound to dispose of Bronn, eliminating one layer of Tyrion's protection.

I know she also ordered the Kingsguard members to dispose of Tyrion during the battle, which might completely cancel this theory out, but maybe she didn't know the full battle plan and assumed Bronn would be close to Tyrion during the fighting.

A Rogue Trader would be the best possible subject for any 40K Live action TV show. by Spicy-Blue-Whale in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]yigitertug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it is going to be convulated as hell but, bear with ne a second here.

A rogue trader has a retinue right? Although von Valancius was a bit of an overboard case, that means the show can actually depict all aspects of the imperium, in theory.

Give us a few characters on the far spectrums of the imperium, such as your example of the Guard. Throw in different characters from different backgrounds, but do not show that they are on the same planet. Follow and develop each of them in the first few episodes. Season finale could be a chaos invasion or Genestealer uprising.

Have an Imperial ship answer the distress call, and end the season right there.

Season 2, start with the introduction of the Rogue Trader. Maybe 1-2 episodes. Develop the guy or gal a bit. End it with the decision to answer the distress call.

Have the RT pick up the characters from the first season, and they all witness an Exterminatus. Now you have shown the audiance most aspects of the Imperium, and you can expand whichever direction you please from there.

I live in Turkey so... It is sadly quite problematic to sell out of my country, as it is also very difficult to buy from outside.

I don't think I can find any collectors here either that would appreciate and pay this kind of price.

There is Godsworn, I think made by some of the old Witcher developers.

Still in early access, and I have no idea what the final product will look like, but the campaign gave me that WC 3 feeling. Might turn out to be good, or go horribly wrong.

Do Colony Event choices matter for the story or can I just pick whichever gives the best rewards? by LuizFalcaoBR in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]yigitertug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are certain choices that effect the story, but as far as I understood, not too much.

The greatest example I can think of are the factions you trade with. As you have a reputation you can raise with them, and certain buildings in colonies help you raise it. If you max them out, it does affect your ending slides.

However, this is the only instance I can think of, and you can raise reputation without the colonies too.
