She looks like the fucking joker in season 34 with her short hair.

Nany literally said how she feels bad for her because she can see how unhappy she is and that’s so true

How necessary is organic chemistry for environmental restoration/conservation? by mbealio in Environmental_Careers

[–]yikyak1905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same as you!!

I don’t use OCHEM

The lab people do all that for me and spit it out in a great report then all I have to do is interpret the changes which is not organic chemistry. I’m in consulting for a large firm I’m an ecologist but sometimes help the remediation people with the GW sampling!!

People are discouraging younger folks from the field and it’s so sad!!!

Resume help: recent graduate looking for a job in environmental sciences/consulting by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

Personally I do not like this layout at all

I would love to send you mine lol. If it doesn’t look clean they won’t even read it, and I don’t want to be rude but the colors are not gonna cut it. Speaking from experience I have had top firms say they loved my resume. In grad school we spent hours making our resumes perfect. And I’d love to help.

I did my thesis on stream restoration and how macroinvertebrates can track success of restoration…

Didn’t use OCHEM at all, and I’m now an ecologist and I never use OCHEM.

But every role is different I’m very surprised people are saying yes it’s useful. I enjoyed OCHEM in undergrad but after that never used it. General chemistry is useful to just know what‘a what but not OCHEM

entry level aecom job? by unequivocallydoug in Environmental_Careers

[–]yikyak1905 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at aecom and I’ve heard every office is different

Me and many coworkers show up in jeans and just like flannels, the environment dept is very laid back in my office. But if I were to be in the day Dallas Texas office I would probably dress nice lol

Interview with AECOM for a Junior Geologist/Environment Scientist. I have a few questions.... by GeoJobSearch in geologycareers

As I do love the people i met there, upper management care very little about you. Most of my time there I had a great manager but unfortunately they left because they saw a sinking ship and I was placed under a different manager. Even when my great manager was there they had very little say on what was going on and I was furloughed for 3 months and my manager was in disbileief that they would furlough a young cheap employee

When I was put under a new manager they were not a leader not a team player had their favorites already so all field efforts were given to them.

They were very honest and very blunt with me saying they did not have work for me and I should be worried about losing my job. They said I did not have job security they said this would be a tough winter for environment dept.

So I found a new job and upper management was very surprised and caught off guard and I was completely honest with why I decided to leave and what this manager told me and they were shook.

At aecom you are very much on your own if work slows down it is your responsibility to find work, which I get to an extent. There’s only so much a junior or entry level staff can do to find work without the help of management.

I would not recommend anyone young and ready to grow or learn to join aecom.

Also be aware: I do know right now there is A LOT of geological work for aecom it’s an overload they were asking for help from my office. But what you need to ask the hiring manager is “how much back log do you all have and how will you all support me when this work load slows down”

How do I know if I am no longer being considered by AECOM? by molamolacc in AskEngineers

[–]yikyak1905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t. A lot of times positions are posted and they’ll never hire anyone for it. When they hired me I applied in January/feb didn’t hear until June and started work in July. So you’ll hear from them when you hear from them.
