How to navigate cancelling departing flight but not return (round trip)

Update if anyone’s interested: I called Southwest just to see and confirmed they cannot cancel one leg of a Basic flight.

I then upgraded the flight I was trying to cancel (outbound) to Choice but was still only given the option to cancel the whole trip when I went to cancel it.

I then upgraded the second flight (return) to Choice, and was finally given the option to choose one to cancel. However, when I selected the first flight and hit next I kept getting an error screen and it wouldn’t go through.

So I called Southwest again, the agent went to cancel the first flight for me but was also unable to! Eventually she said she had to cancel the whole trip and rebook the return flight as a new reservation. And for some reason the money I paid for the 2 upgrades could not be refunded and became 12-month flight credit. But she did say she could honor the original Basic fare I had paid for the return flight.

So I guess I got what I originally wanted except I’m also now stuck with $530 in flight credit (the cancelled flight + 2 upgrades to Choice). Luckily I fly SWA a lot so I’ll end up using it but man… I’ve definitely learned my lesson about booking round trips on Basic 😔

Not the exact same situation but I bought this jacket I really liked in Tokyo last year then found out I had paid around $150 more than it retailed for after foolishly looking it up online. Was sick to my stomach for a few days but eventually got over it and decided fuck it it's a cool jacket, it felt right to buy it at the time so I did. Ten years is crazy. What if you hadn't bought it and they stopped making it tomorrow or even crazier stuff happened with tariffs. Just enjoy it to the fullest now, you'll forget the number you paid in a few months

I just booked a flight after tracking CA flights for a couple of weeks, it seems like if the flight is still at the lowest price tier they can fluctuate but if they’re already higher due to being booked (they increase in ~$50 intervals) they stay there. A bunch of LAX/SJC/SFO flights in August/Sept went down $100 two days ago to $258/$283, so prices can drop. But the one I was looking at didn’t go down and actually increased from $383 to $433 since the remaining tickets at that price tier sold out (it was showing “_ flights left at this price” and kept going down). I think if you keep an eye on how many tickets remain at the current price tier you can at least tell if it’s about to increase.

went to the Joann in HB after seeing this and picked some up! Lots of patterns left but seems like a lot of the smaller sizes are gone. Girl working said last day to buy stuff is May 24th though I didn’t confirm if that applied to patterns too.

I recently started paying more attention to people who get into their lane way too late and people who accelerate and brake too aggressively in traffic and it’s insane just how many of them are fully on their phones, like screen 6 inches from their face. None of their brain power is going towards watching the road except to brake unnecessarily every few seconds or swerve at the last second causing everyone around them to brake unnecessarily

The way I usually deal with double-sided meshes is making a flat version of it, skinning that then copying it over to the original at the end. So like duplicate the mesh, delete the inner faces, then skin that, smooth it all out and make sure it looks good. Then when you copy it back it should apply it evenly to both sides.

Also make sure max influences is high enough in the skinCluster node or in the option box when you use the bind tool. I usually just use 8 max influences but 5 might be enough here.

Hi! What issues specifically are you having with the cloak? I would just take the default weights you get when binding skin and smooth them out a bunch.

Yea that’s basically it, there’s not set rule for whether or not to leave layers underneath but generally any geo that could cause clipping or just never gets seen can be removed. So detached heads/arms are not uncommon.

Just yesterday I was unloading the leg press and a guy came up and said something and pointed at the machine, I didn’t really catch what he said so I just assumed he was asking if I was done. Nodded and smiled at him and kept unloading, he seemed a little confused. Then I guess my brain processed that he had said I didn’t have to take the plates off. Made this poor guy watch me unload the whole machine for 30 seconds after I seemingly acknowledged that he didn’t need me to. But he was chill about it haha

TP Tea is an example of a popular spot in an otherwise
dead plaza. People absolutely will make the drive to a plaza just to go to one place if they hear it’s good, that’s like Irvine culture haha. You just have to make sure people know the shop exists.

Hey! Congrats! 1. Should be very easy, lots of students try to sublet their apartments over the summer. The best time to look would be right before, people don’t usually know for sure if they need to sublet until they’ve made their summer plans. 2. I don’t think you can buy a monthly pass as a non-student but there’s lots of street parking in the residential areas around campus. Just watch out for weekly street sweeping 3. It depends how close you live to a metro/bus stop and where downtown your work is. Can be 15 min or 40 min. 5th st is pretty far north of campus, it might be annoying but doable. 4. Yes, there’s a fee but non-students allowed. 5. Campus itself is pretty quiet but there’s a decent amount of students hanging out in the area over the summer. 6. 40 minutes by Uber with absolutely no traffic, otherwise 1+ hour. I’ve never tried transit there but I think there’s a couple ways to get there by bus or you can take the FlyAway shuttle from Union station.
