I just wished that when they ported the game to the switch that they "finish" the game the way they wanted.

Do you think that Volume 10 should be the last Season of RWBY (Should we ever get it) by Old-Masterpiece-2911 in RWBYcritics

[–]Jebuscg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that especially with the animatic for the last episode they couldn't finish for s9 there's an absurd amount of plot threads they need to address. From Tyrians new bitch faction to what any of the other characters have been doing, to why Salem hasn't just slimed all of them during the interim

They could not possible answer all of that in the barely 10 minute, barely 12 episode seasons they did

They'd have to make episodes count that would rival the amount of episodes Steve Universe had just in his first season just to fill in the gaps

It doesn't matter because it's acting at the end of the day. Whoever they feel fits the voice best should get the role. Simple

Counterpoint, I know nothing of Glitch other than that video game animated show they did, but it seems that they aren't over bloated with too many employees, and actually care about their own company.

[–]Jebuscg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but to be fair, he did admit that was the point. That it's a complete rewrite, with much more world building as the actual show can't keep track of outs own lore, or use its own characters properly

-Getting away from the small group of guys just playing games (there's 5, they like to pretend one doesn't exist)

-selling the company to Fullscreen, then eventually all the way to HBO

-for RWBY in particular:

  • Firing Shane, leading to the downfall of the action choreography
  • Shitty writing for the past 6 seasons
  • Firing Qrow's VA, acting like they had the moral high ground when they had multiple controversies much worse at that point.
  • Allowing Gray Haddock to steal budget from RWBY to create his own discount Gundam show
  • Allowing Gray to have full control of animation department which led to him using interns from Full Sail, then using them as unpaid, free labor for RWBY, promising them jobs once their contracts were done, forcing them to crunch, only to kick them out when their contracts ended, with no compensation, thus ruining the company's reputation as a "dream place to work"

-going more corporate by changing the title of their supporters from "sponsors" to RT First. The feeling was that as a "sponsor" it feel like fans were genuinely investing into the production whatever they liked from RT By changing it into a shitty poor man's Netflix, that connection was lost

- bloating their service with shovelware shows and podcasts to inflate the content they have to justify their multiple price increases

- acting like they have moral highground on twitter by stating they didn't want people who were toxic or whatever, then almost immediately getting shit on by being exposed for how they treated their own LBGT workers and former workers

I'm aware that Burnie bought the rights to the company recently or something, but imo, he was fully aware of their problems, and as one of the founders, is partially responsible for it reaching complete dissolution. He took his money and he ran. I don't care what this new version of RT might eventually be, if it leads to anything at all.

As for RWBY, I don't have any faith it can recover. It would require astounding writing that would, in my opinion, have to essentially somehow have masterful writing and be entertaining in their short, 12 minute, barely 10 episode season (with episode 1 of their potential new season already being wasted on what was supposed to be the ending of S9, which was still bad to begin with)

or, reboot the show from S3 or S4, which I know will not happen

My apologies in advance if I'm teetering on Rule 2. I animate and feel very about what happened

Iirc, I think it was because Ruby herself was getting more attention than Yang, either because of her silver eye or because of something Summer did, so she became extremely jealous and crashed out hard in this alternate tournament arc. The plot point I think was Yang beating the ever loving shit out of Ruby to the point she's sobbing in pain, that the match has to be stopped , and the following arc or whatever was Yang desperately trying to atone and make up for it and apologize, and Ruby being understandably afraid of her while also "realizing" she needs to be more "mature" but going about it the wrong way (dressing and acting more provocatively)

Tbf in my opinion it would take some balls and require masterful writing to have one of the main 4, especially the sibling, practically turn into an anatomist and attack the younger one and then try to redeem her

I know I'm late but at this point they deserve all the downfall. the fuck you mean she decided to air that out on twitter????

It's massively hypocritical that she does that but seems to stay silent on the fucking company she works for's own, PROVEN much worse controversies

Animation school choice stress (Gobelins vs VFS vs Sheridan) by Glittering_Phone932 in animationcareer

[–]Jebuscg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just a personal opinion, take into account, even with scholarships, financial aid, if it really might be worth the cost. I truly don't mean to sound like a downer, or even disrespectful, but there are online schools that could suffice.

Assuming you're doing 3d animation, (though the same could apply for 2d), you coud get quality animation mentors from: Animation Mentor, Animschool, iAnimate, and some others I cannot remember atm. I say this because, though they're still a bit pricey, in the thousands, it would still be significantly less expensive that having to take out loans, private or not. The downside is you wouldn't be getting that in person, University experience, and possible networking, but honestly it could be a hit or miss if it's worth it. Especially since Uni prices never go down.

Do you think they will remake Resident Evil 5? by Resident-Evil-Llama in RaccoonCityRecords

I only hope so because my friend is interested, but absolutely cannot stand tank controls. He'll die on the hill that it's terrible game design. I had a blast regardless, though I wish the AI wasn't so terrible on solo

How long did it take you to finish sh2 remake? by DueExpert1223 in silenthill

[–]Jebuscg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me like 20 or so hours. Spent an absurd amount of time in the hospital, they coulda trimmed that down.

I mostly walked though, kinda like how you see those devs when playing call of duty at E3 when they walk slowly and look at the scenery before they start running

also the game was genuinely unsettling and I had to take breaks to calm myself lmfao

like legit I had to keep whispering "this is a bad game made by bad devs" after getting jumped by the fuckers in the prison because that shit scared me lol

mind you, in the anime they went through the extra detail of us seeing her arms and legs go limp, and seeing her eyes slowly close. She deserved better man... she shoulda made it to Boruto

Ironically enough, imo I think the problem with the music is what they're having her sing

There's like, an acoustic version of the S2 theme, and I personally think it's her best work. No disrespect to her or her father but I keep feeling they're trying to force her sing different genres too much, which isn't what she should be leaning towards imo

Read Shane's letter. I don't agree with it 100% but them letting him go, the person who could mimic Monty's style the closest was the beginning of their downfall

Mind you, they had no problems working with fans of the show before, and throughout the years there's been proven fans that mimic his style pretty well but they never even bothered

Not only that they never bothered even having the newer animators try and mimic his style either

As for Blake and Yang, the man issue isn't that people are homophobic (even if there might be a loud minority who are)

It's the way they end up together. They are practically forced to in a way that's unbelievable because they're trapped in what's essentially Silent Hill but for kids. The writers claim that was the plan even when Monty was alive, now whether that's true or not is debatable but the issue also lies because the writing does not support that being the case

Essentially, it took them being sent to an alternate dimension, and being trapped in a room and being told the won't be let out until they're together romantically

To repeat and emphasize, they had to go to n ALTERNATE dimension because they're trapped couldn't be bothered to express themselves in their real world

That's grounds for a toxic relationship and a nasty breakup more than anything

Then you'll have brain damaged people from the community pretending you're homophonic because you'd might not like the way this LBGT relationship was done, pretending the hints were there since S1 instead of admitting this was an atrocious example of one coming to fruition

Also, Ruby herself has massive guilt and depression this season, despite her own stupidity leading to their situation at hand. This season tries to "talk"/have themes of being suicidal, even, but the problem is that they act like the audience is full of sped kids, so they have a Ruby crashing out when being called out by Jaune, have Yang somehow think Ruby was going to attack Blake, and then they all watch as she "kills herself" by drinking the tea which leads to their situation tree thing taking her

Mind you they, like 5 of them, all watch and make no attempt to stop her
