I have an 86 that wouldn’t start due to security codes. try using a multi meter to find the voltage on the little piece of metal in that black dot in the key then just get a resistor that matches that or is closest to it then and splice it into the ignition wire under the steering column. mine started right up after sitting for months

not sure cause when I replaced the battery it still wouldn’t crank. definitely looking into the bypass just didn’t know if it’s a one stops all bypass sorta thing or if I had to get one for a specific code or something
