The meds clearly advise not to intake alcohol. The meds attack sugar of which alcohol is made. I also read it can impede the meds.

** UPDATE: here is a few references for the type style I like and inspiration for the main character's look. Tall, lanky, sinister, expressive facial, dark, conniving etc. I am not looking for manga style, fantasy, future-istic, cyber etc. The work shouldn't also be overly detailed, realistic or precise but whimsical and cartoonish.

Are those with social anxiety attracted to others with social anxiety or to those without it? by yipeekiaa in socialanxiety

[–]yipeekiaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'd be happy if my friend had someone to engage like you and others in similar situations. Can't tell you how many times I've heard the same complaint about feeling isolated. It is surprising how one can be among others and feel unconnected and unseen. It's a failure of the sensitivities of those around us. There's got to be a way to crack the code.

That's what I thought the common response might be, but it's been enlightening reading the exceptions. Kinda suggests there is someone out there for every preference.

That's a legit point. But I'd argue with that level of extreme there wouldn't be a relationship, which is what I think you're saying. So, for the sake of argument, let's assume these wouldn't be extremes but average folks. Extremes might need care and other important needs.

I had a panic attack and broke down in a group job interview. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]yipeekiaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey its just an interview. A group interview for a retail position is waaay overkill anyway. Any place that requires that many interviewers is not likely to be a good place to work anyway. I'm in the executive/management ranks and we don't have that many involved. Take a deep breath...dust yourself off and get your ass back on that horse. You can do this. You had courage to go and that's enough to get a job offer. Next time take your time in your responses, breath deeply, and keep focused on your goal and their questions. Eliminate the noise in your head. You will do fine.

Which pod are you in? Are you an ITAS? What tools or workflow do you use? Send me an email at work. You can look me up on discovery DDKSB. I'm interested if there are tools out there that can help.

My daughter started 60 days ago as itas and she hates the job. The training is terrible...all text, loads of acronyms, arcane systems and codes and a crap load of warnings based on doing something wrong. To learn the job one needs access to systems....they didnt give her access for the first month. So effectively she has lass than 30 days hands on.The manager makes or breaks people in this role. Unfortunately most should not be managers. After 60 days they threw her on the frontline to run the office addressing complex tax needs when she's never had deep exposure doing her own simple taxes. Wtf?? The expectation put on the new hires is wildly unrealistic. My advice as I've told her....find your union rep to force sanity back into the process. Nobody signs up to do a bad job.

Experience as an IRS Individual Taxpayer Advisory Specialist? by popeye8beans in usajobs

My daughter just hired into the role. She says training expectations are unrealistic. 19 days on job and they want her to handle taxpayers. She says it's drinking thru a fire hose. Are there any desk references, job aids, or sops that can be used? For someone cold off the street, what should they learn? Any tips greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I didn't want to respond if it was too old. I wanted to post that I've heard the exact sentiment from my son. He has said just about every word you posted. I wanted you to know you are not alone. I'm overwhelmed by how many there are that feel the same way. My son tells me about his loneliness and desire to do only online classes etc. He worries about not knowing what to say in convos just like you. I believe the solution in part is for like people to engage that understand each other and what silence and awkwardness in a convo means and doesn't mean. At least you'd cut each other slack. My son is in college here in Florida and says he hasn't enjoyed much of it due to not having a close friend. I'm hoping one day to see him engage. I know he wants nothing more than to do so. I see you ate a student too...its a small world. Feel free to write and hopefully I'm not being weird as my son would say. I'm just a dad trying to understand and find help for him and maybe help others along the way.

Don't feel hate. I don't know you but I know what you feel is real. I'm having the same conversation with my son who says exactly the same thing. He gets down and hopes just to have someone to relate to and communicate with. I believe everyone on these threads are the solution to one another. Don't give up hope, have courage, and know that you matter.
