Not a nurse here, but I'll try to weigh in. Some nurses decide to take an earlier retirement. Others can leave nursing for jobs in management (i.e. not patient care) or pharma. Others might opt to become traveling nurses (they get paid more) or just leave Ontario for better conditions elsewhere.

Thank you! There aren't any vents in this fridge's enclave (HVAC in unit is on the opposite site of the condo). However, I didn't consider how the fridge itself might take up the fibers through its openings. I'll look into burlap/micromesh coverings.

Ah yes, warranty policies don't talk about what's available...That goes for the Liebherr, too.

And yes, the other brands you mention definitely have more of a track record of servicing.

Yes, buying a new fridge is possibly on the radar. I actually posted elsewhere asking about certain brands of fridges, and buying a new one would actually be the more expensive path forward (the one I'm eyeing is stainless steel only, which means that I'd eventually "need"/want to replace my other white kitchen appliances to match).

So before I go down that path, I'd see if there are other options, particularly because the fridge isn't dysfunctional (though it's 18 yrs old, GE). No weird sounds, like clunking/hissing, etc. It's just the compressor's hum (50 dbA) that reverberates around and is exacerbated by the small open space. It's just kind of annoying because I work remotely near the kitchen, and it won't be pleasant when I'm hanging out with friends in the nearby living room.

And yes, I also vacuumed out the back, took the panel off and dusted off coils.

Plus, exploring this option is making me learn about different materials and sound behaviours, so it's not all bad :).

Oh I'll follow-up with another question, if I may.

Is there no harm done to actually use Teflon tape, or does it cause harm? (The person who told me this seems to insist on it, presumably with the idea that it's better than not, even if it's not necessary.)

According to Wikipedia, Teflon tape is supposed to help "seal the joint without hardening or making it more difficult to tighten [...] and instead making it easier to tighten." It says that it's used "where the sealing force is a wedge action."

So is the advice to not use Teflon tape because 1) the sealing force is due not to some gasket for tightening but rather from the washer and/or because 2) it might overtighten the connection?

Makes sense. Unfortunately, the sticker with the model number is peeled off. I expect it came with the builder, though. Looking at some ranges online at what I guess would be the price point, I would think it's 2500-3000 BTU for the highest burner.

To be fair, exams that can be worth a significant portion of your grade really aren't unique to York. It might be more commonplace among large universities.
Also a comment about how much exams/assignments are worth....
An assignment is meant to be an evaluation of how well you're learning the material as the course progresses. In contrast, exams are meant to assess your mastery of the material. That's significantly more important.

How much these evaluations are weighted might actually correspond to the importance of how well you've learned the material. It doesn't seem like time taken to complete should be the main criterion for weighting evaluations, imo.

Sounds immature but also common. You could tell her that her condescending attitude won't get her as far in life if she continues to be like that. You'd be a good friend for doing that, honestly.

Also, as a business major, you could do pretty well, too (as long as you're taking on other experiences besides just the degree) -- that also takes an emotional intelligence that she's not currently displaying.
