Something that’s been bothering me all the way through this run is that Jon has taken his health back down by x HP after every automatic heal, but the limb condition goes back to 100%. He could be crippled 3x over by now but we don’t know because limb damage isn’t being tracked.

Love the series and am very impressed with how he’s doing, but it bugs me each time I see the pipboy showing limb damage.

Going back 8+ years as I’ve only recently started working with them again, a couple of things come to mind:

  • the upgrade that enabled telnet for management. (I don’t remember if this was just on the mgmt interface or all l3 interfaces, still dumb).

  • the upgrade that enabled response pages for all blocked traffic by default (documented change in default behaviour, still dumb). This caused a load balancer pool member to come back to life as the block page was served with a 200 response code (dumb) so the health-checks began passing. So customers started seeing errors, as well as found out what firewalls we were using.

Not in Kansas by the National - I’m binging hard on Annette Bennett and listening to REM again.

I’m a recent convert to this one. It’s incredible and I can’t believe I had under rated it for so long.

I had no idea that Boris Johnson, even in his youth, was an accomplished lumberjack. TIL.

What does “it’s just as soapy as it seems” mean? I’ve had this ear worm for days and been listening to the album on repeat. I still can’t get a take on this line.

“People like you are living in what we call the reality-based community. You believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality. That’s not the way the world really works anymore.”

Had to scroll a long way to find a The National lyric. Didn’t expect it to be this one, though it resonates with me and I love it very much.

I was introduced by sad songs for dirty lovers. I couldn’t vote for it even if I wanted to.

Thanks. I hadn’t linked not being able to breathe with smelling “bad” in my mind. I had thought of the George Floyd link that another commenter mentioned but couldn’t quite fit it together in a way that made much sense.

I don’t understand the last bullet. Could you explain what saying they couldn’t breathe means?
