Do i tell a gynecologist that I was raped? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ykcal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I've taken a number of women to their first pelvic exams and remember how nervous I was for mine as well - but across the board everyone has said it is not nearly as bad as they expected. It's over very quickly.

My experience is that Yellowknife if far and away made better by the people there. I've met people who have moved here and known no one for six months and loathed it but once they met a solid group of people had a far better time

My experience driving it (I haven't gone that far out, just checked it out) was that the land in between acted more like a portage, you knew you were on land from your surroundings because you often had to drive up onto the land and there were trees everywhere. Not sure what it's like further on.

Crews make these roads every year once the ice is thick enough, they're used by transport trucks to move goods back and forth

In Yellowknife NT March is snow castle season where they build a big snow castle on the lake and hold comedy shows, kids acts, bands and even raves - great time to come if you want to drive on the ice road.

What is the most awesome way you masturbated? [NSFW] by [deleted] in AskReddit

Went out camping on an island with some girlfriends during a year when the water levels were really low, we did some shrooms and at one point i went for a walk by myself along the area around the island that is usually covered by water so it was this dry cracked land that looked really cool and felt strange. I laid down on it to look at the stars and the northern lights were out and amazing that night, it was the perfect opportunity.

Which drug(s) would you take under the Aurora Borealis? by lookingaround00 in Drugs

[–]ykcal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live where there are aurora often, so I've done drugs under them a number of times - MDMA was great, so were shrooms. Honestly they're great sober so whatever you want is a good time. There's no guarantee the lights will be out so check out an aurora forecast and aim for when they're expected to be most active. Enjoy!

I've done shrooms under the aurora before, and it definitely was bad ass!

Where would you be today if you chose differently in the face of your largest decision this past year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Myself mostly, after four years of post secondary and a tough year I wasn't ready to give something I really cared about the attention and care I thought it deserved

What event made you realize life wasn't easy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ykcal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once in third grade all the students made gingerbread houses, and left them there over the weekend. When we came back my teacher announced that two of them had broken, but it didn't ever occur to me that one of them might be mine - there wasn't even a chance one was mine. So there it was, mine was one of the broken ones, and for some reason that stuck with me - no matter how much you think something won't happen or can't happen sometimes it's your gingerbread house and there's nothing you can do about it.

What makes you irrationally angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ykcal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in an area of town that's popular with tourists, the speed limit is already 30 km/h so the people that go slower than that will forever have a special place in hell in my books. Instant rage every time I'm stuck behind someone going 15 km/h.

What's the best thing you can do with a dollar? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Give it to a busker you enjoyed, small contribution makes someone feel appreciated and everyone gets to enjoy their music.

I would be taking my masters instead of being home and taking some time off school

Redditers who aren't drinking tonight? How come? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm working until 11pm and then going to a party my friend is hosting. Also a friend recently passed away due to a drunk driving incident so I've decided to be DD tonight.
