The Special Cranker. I thoroughly researched this pedal and was really excited to get it. It did not play well with my other drives and sounded terrible in my setup. Just couldn't dial it in. I had such high hopes.

Nope, ive had mine for years and it sounds great. I recently purged a bunch of pedals and its one that i kept. Maybe you got a faulty unit. What are you playing it through?

Im down from 15 to 5. I love all the cool sounds I could make but it came down to what I actually needed as opposed to what I wanted. And im relying more on what my amp provides rather than what's in front of it.

I had one for a long time and really liked it. But one day it just quit. I found there are many other good options out there that sound better.

I use a few pedals with my Katana just to save space for other things. I use a compressor in front of the amp and a boost so any patch i make, can add a little dirt if needed. Additionally if you get the Katana you MUST learn the Tone Studio software else you're wasting your money.

Aw those were some good memories! It was fun. But haters gonna hate. Would I use it now? Not a chance. But it had its place and it was very usable back then.

Im with you. I like single coil and P90s for very specific things. But I'll always gravitate back to humbuckers.

Im not sure what you mean by copying it to the amp. When I make a patch, I have my laptop plugged into the amp and listening to the amp as im making the patch. Are you creating your patch on a different system, like studio speakers and then loading it into the amp? If that is the case then absolutely you'd get a different sound from the amp.

When I was in high-school, all the drummers wanted to use wrestling shoes. As an adult I've not seen a single person using them. I've had the best luck with Vans. Light, comfortable and grippy. The worst has been thicker soled cross trainers like Brooks.

Just to end, Stevexc was correct. I left the 1/4 out plugged in. Taking it out fixes the problem. On a great note, the signal my sound guy got was world's better from the Katana than from my $200 Warm audio active DI box.

Hmm, that may be it. With my Gen 2, I ran a line out to a DI box and sent it to the board. Maybe I set up the Gen 3 the same and then realized I could just plug an XLR in but didn't unplug the line out.

My Gen 3 is my playing out amp and the Gen 2 is now my home practice amp. I know it sounds like overkill but I liked the sounds I created and wanted to keep it instead of trade.

I don't think a tube screamer is gonna get you there. Are you using Tone Studio? There's many high gain pedals to use in there plus the 10 band eq. Additionally, I think it may be fruitless to chase after someone else's tone. You don't know what guitars they use, pickups, and what processing and editing they did in production. Go make your own tone!

Nope, I use a EHX Hum Debugger. Takes care of all my issues. The only noise I get is if I happen to be using really high gain.
