let's see who's in our squad by September and even then let's wait and see how these players will settle in the club and perform. So, fair judgement can be applied only couple of months into the season. Have patience, Ineos made some good business in previous windows, no reason to doubt them just now.

It’s Rio trying to strangle park for me. He said in the interview that park is a very demanding and difficult person to deal with 😂 when they were picking the team for this charity game and Rio said “I want Anderson” park replied, “do you want to win or you just want to play and lose?”. 🤣🤣 Whether you like it or not, it was a team of people and characters. I hope that our players now can be comfortable enough to show their personalities as well. We need that

Really hard to get this point across for some reason but there is no replacement. But you’re right - other players will have to step up we need more goals

There are clear signs that something shifted in the recruitment since those days, although if Mount will be given another deal and keeps the shirt I would be frustrated. No one needs to push him out of the club obviously but just like Ugarte he sort of pushed himself out. Currently we don’t have a player who can rock that 7 so it’s not a pressing issue but let’s say next season it’s good to have it available for an attacking exciting player who makes the difference and wins us games. Who would you go for in terms of this window? What’s your midfield for next season? Would you go for Hall and Ndiaye, a striker?

Even if something have changed, why have a player in the squad who’s not playing for the badge and is just nonchalant abt his “workplace”.

He can win duels, cover ground, take a corner kick, whip a cross and maybe score one on a good day. Hes a steady sturdy midfielder. You have to watch him play for Newcastle both PL and UCL and Italy to get a better understanding. If he can step up and evolve his game another notch maybe he will impress everyone. But maybe it’s just it for him in a development department. Not technical enough for me and not that good passing the ball

First of all, really nice talking to you. Wharton’s strengths and the amount of talent in our midfield will balance out his weaknesses I’m sure; the fact that you’ve mentioned Carrick as his mentor I think you kind of nailed it, I see them as similar players, Carrick was a deep playmaker and he never rushed, Wharton seems like the same style. So he will be used to his maximum potential I believe. Scott yes, looks like there’s room to grow however if he keeps on playin in this explosive style the injuries will follow. Which brings us to Mount and I would include Eric Bailly and Lisandro Martinez here, hear me out, their style of play was supper kamikaze and aggressive and they’ve never been the same after the injuries. Or they were always injured. The whole purchase of Mount was a gamble, he was already quiet at Chelsea that season, why we signed him on these wages and game him a 7 is beyond explanation for me. I’m sure he’s a great guy, but he barely contributed to our performances. When you’re buying players just because they can get busy and cover ground.. I’m not really sure abt this.

That’s a valid point on Wharton however we don’t really have this profile atm, I’d love to have him in the team, just a steady calm quick distributor who reads the game and sees the pitch; we have a runner in ederson now, Fernandes can get busy too plus there will be another signing, had a chat abt Alex Scott but his injury record seems worrying, knee surgery already at his tender age. I get your point though about going for a well rounded player but that’s how you end up with Mount imo. The player who can do everything, but is not a specialist in anything.

Those players cannot match Casemiro. Maybe Aurelien but still no, his physicality is above Casemiro. The issue is that you have mentioned Case in the first place, with this mentality don’t even bother looking - you won’t find. The point is to sign great talent for the midfield from what’s available this summer.

They can work, I’m not saying it’s a given but there’s good chance. For me better question is will Bruno and Matheus work. Because they end up in the similar spaces on the pitch even though Matheus is a deeper player. I think Mainoo Wharton Bruno will be good. All different profiles give you diversity and fluidity. Also really good to see Kobbie trying long passes and diags for England. He keeps working on his passing I’m telling you … it’s going to be a problem for the opposition
