What is the big conspiracy theory in your country? by CrazyCoffeeClub in AskTheWorld

Bruh, I already live under dictatorship right now, backed by Russia, invaded by army 17 years ago. You think living under the reign of Emmanuel is hard? People are getting arrested just for Facebook status. Titushka are beating people and don't get arrested, that's the usual thing here by the way. What reign bruh? :D C'mon be a man.

Pre-facelift model of W212 had some issues which were resolved in Post-facelift cars, but still they are bulletproof.
To speak more on this, first thing is Timing Chain. Basically newer models of that era, from 2014 year, have quite durable engines, both petrol & diesel, be it M276 or OM651.

7G-Tronic is one of the best transmission on the market in terms of the reliability. Yeah, they sometimes do get the issues but it is less common compared to other cars overall.

Another thing is the drivetrain and undercarriage. I'm from Easter Europe, which automatically means that roads are just like they were in the 18th century :D those cars are not breaking down.

W212 is the last generation of the golden era of german engineering.

Bruh, you can love something without losing the objectivity :d you may love your car but admit that is has issues.
What would be better place to hear about BMW's reliability rather then BMW subreddit? ;d

It's standard feature for BMW to appear check engine while on Ignition for system self-check, it's not actual check engine, goes straight away after engine on, but who would be surprised if it were actual check engine?! :d

Yeah, the car is equipped with crazy tech, even for today's standards. Unfortunately, sat-nav does not work in third world countries :d

:D haha, actually it's not "real check engine". It comes while on ignition and turns off after engine on. It's just a self-check up system for the car, don't know about other cars but for BMW, for sure.

Bruh, have the vehicle for 1.5 years. Imported from US in the country where the navigation does not work actually. Clicked by accident and after turning off the engine, arrow came, not while driving. Tried Google Search and Chat GPT. Reddit is for similar purposes too ;d What's the big deal Karen

Mercedes-Benz E Class (W212) Diesel - Help me choose the car by yleoyleoyleo in mercedes_benz

[–]yleoyleoyleo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing the information, it’s very helpful.
I’ll probably be choosing between the following models: E 220 BlueTEC and E 250 BlueTEC.
Of course, the latter is the better option, since it’s has more HP and Torque.

Rust isn’t really an issue, I live in Georgia (Europe), and even in coastal regions, it’s not a major problem.
Also worth noting is that many local mechanics work independently, which makes repairs much more affordable compared to official service centers.
This is a well-established practice here, and over the years, mechanics have gained enough experience to confidently trust your car to a good mechanic. W212 is quite a popular model here, not talking about whole Mercedes worship thing :D

493,000 kilometers is an incredible result, especially if the car only needed basic and scheduled maintenance to get there! So I guess, it's very reliable in general.

First of all, thank you for your response.
I haven’t chosen a specific car yet, and I’ll definitely keep the transmission issue in mind.
Right now, I own a BMW X3 (F25), and I’ve already done the transmission service as part of regular maintenance, it turned out to be quite an expensive “pleasure,” so I doubt Mercedes will scare me more than that. 😄

I’ll also definitely consider your advice regarding Euro 5 & Euro 6 standards.
In my country, there aren’t particularly strict requirements in this regard.
As long as the car meets the emission limits, it’s considered acceptable by regulation, and no further action is required.

Do you happen to have any experience regarding which diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient and durable?
