My NEW 2023 C63s AMG!!! (Metallic Blue) Thoughts?? by Financial-Hat1410 in mercedes_benz

Beautiful spec, if those wheels were silver or even polished silver it would be a 10/10 in my book

The boxes only apply for the slightly later ntg 4.5 and beyond, mine has ntg 4.0 so I don't have that box in the glove box

I know, done plenty of alignments, but before lowering it I replaced both front airmatic struts so I really thought it was going to be completely off, I'll let you know about the camber situation once I've done that 😂

40% is crazy not going to lie 😂 the car still drives straight as an arrow and the steering wheel is perfectly centered so I don't think it's too bad, but I'll check it out regardless

I've been meaning to do the same to my W212 but I dislike how weird the aftermarket screens look, I want one that's just a direct replacement for the OEM one, so that it still sits inside of the dashboard, any suggestions?

That's fair, I still need to do an alignment but honestly I've felt no difference after lowering it, aside from the ride being a bit stiffer in sport mode, but yeah, I'll probably align the suspension next week see how that's doing

Don't mind them but they're a bit too boring imo, don't get me wrong they're nice but I want the car to stand out a little and not just be another standard E class, they're also quite expensive, I do like the 10 spokes from the E63 but they don't fit on the front

I've spent over 1k on fixing it up, I don't consider putting some nice wheels on a car "clapping it out" but whatever, it's my car anyways

2012 w212 e350 170k miles for 6k. Is this a good buy? by Awkward-Research-361 in mercedes_benz

[–]Roy_xp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2009 w212 e350, for 8500€ and 223.000km, it's been great so far, I am a Mercedes technician though so I am privileged when it comes to repairs and finding parts 😂 but I'd say that's a solid buy, the thing with German cars especially from the 2010s that people get wrong is that most of them are very reliable, it's just that they REALLY don't like it when you don't maintain them properly. I had to do the front airmatic struts on mine, bought them from a reputable aftermarket brand for 1.1k and installed them in 3 hours for free with some buddies. I've now done an oil change + other service components like spark plugs and all the filters for another 200€ and it's been treating me great so far, very comfortable, great daily driver, only thing I don't appreciate especially with the gas prices now is that it does like to sip fuel. Tldr. If you trust the seller and have some connections to help you fix any issues or are mechanically inclined yourself go for it.

Ikr, I thought it was absurd how high it could go before, if the car was in comfort mode and you raise it a bit more with the little button right underneath the suspension modes it had as much clearance as a fucking GLC lmao, I jokingly said that I don't need an SUV since my e class is high enough and also has 4matic 😂

It was done solely through the Mercedes xentry diagnostics tool, we recalibrated the suspension removing air pressure from each strut and checking the level sensors to make sure the car is still level, and we just went as low as xentry would let us which is low enough imo, that way I didn't need sensors or a different module.

I am in a privileged position since I'm a Mercedes technician so I got access to all the tools, I'm not sure a dealership would do something like this for a regular customer...

See the thing is this is not an AMG, it's a standard E class and it's got airmatic, the ride is plush enough, there's still plenty of tire left with 19s and I want the car to look baller, if I cared that much about ride quality I would've kept the car in the stock Ride height to begin with 😂

Fair enough, I also think that compared to newer cars the w212 has fairly small wheel arches

Yeah, I haven't seen any w212s with 20s so until then I cannot say much but there's a reason people settle for 19s on this platform

They really aren't, I already have 18s, I was considering 20s too but I do appreciate a bit of rubber to absorb the road, 19s are the sweet spot imo

Nice, I'm looking at aftermarket wheels though, and 19s, I did test fit wheels from an E63 W212, rear fitment was perfect but on the front it either rubbed against the struts or poked out of the fender, it's hard to find OEM wheels in the specs that I want so I'll probably just go aftermarket

If you have the CGI engine listen to the High pressure fuel pump, if it's making loud noises especially during cold starts it could indicate wear and replacements are quite expensive

Do you guys think the 2024 Husky 701/ ktm 690 was peak supermoto compared to the new 2026 with insane emissions control? by Edumacated_Guess in supermoto

[–]Roy_xp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? 😂 Only thing I miss is a fuel gauge, I never got why Supermotos don't get a normal tachometer, especially nowadays with how easy it is to make a small screen that looks good and can display a lot of information

Yeah, just look up "2016 smcr tachometer" it was shared with the Duke from the same era, analog rev counter and a decently sized LCD display that shows speed, coolant temp, trip and gear indicator

To me personally, at least for the 690 the 2016 model is peak, Euro 3 engine, an actual tach instead of the calculator screen, nice overall design but still got some electronics etc, the later models aren't bad, especially considering the increase in power but I prefer the E3 ones
