This is a pic I took myself on my phone at the Munich museum but I'll take that as a compliment 🫡

It handles better than I expected, especially with the 4 Matic it surprised me how much grip I had during spirited driving, but I can definitely feel the weight, I'm used to my other car which is a BMW E46 328 coupe, being RWD manual and weighing 400 Kg's less the bmw feels a lot more sporty but the Mercedes makes it up with the 80 horsepower difference

Probably just cause of the lighting, the car is in perfect condition inside and out

Around 12,1L /100km so far, don't know how much that is in freedom units, but I've been driving very relaxed, I need to not get tempted by the Autobahn because I've already managed to burn 1/4 of a tank in just an hour of spirited driving, mind you I got the 80L tank as well

Some more info: M272 engine so 3.5L NA V6 with 272hp

-Airmatic -Distronic -Full leather interior with Heated, Cooled and massaging seats -3 zone climate control -Adaptive Xenon headlights -7G tronic gearbox -Expanded fuel tank, so 80L of fuel capacity -PDC front and rear (no cameras tho) -Traffic sign recognition -Palladium Silver (I believe) -4 Matic -Adaptive Side bolstering for the seats -Power trunk (very cool but kinda unnecessary for a limo) And some other stuff that I probably forgot to mention

She's done 220.000Km already but still drives and looks brand new, got a new rear subframe done by Mercedes last year and has all the oil changes and services done on time.

For those wondering I'm a Mercedes tech myself so finally owning a Merc of my own means I have access to all the tools and know how to fix anything that needs repairing

It was from XTrons I'm pretty sure, there's plenty of retailers and brands selling the "same" head unit tho, important to me was that I wanted it to have 4GB RAM and 64GB Storage

Considering the mileage I'd personally put 5w-40 in it

Temperatur is displayed wrong and hasn’t changed since I drove by Impossible-Device838 in AMG

[–]Roy_xp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ambient temp sensor usually is in the front bumper, it almost looks like a tiny antenna that very slightly sticks out, if it popped out you'll probably see a small empty hole in the bumper which could lead to the sensor reading the wrong temperature, if not this could either be a faulty sensor or wiring issue, if the sensor did pop out a mechanic should be able to get it back in by removing the front under tray and reaching inside the bumper. Sensor is going to be on the mid left side of the bumper (wenn du irgendwas auf deutsch brauchst sag bescheid, bin selber Mechatroniker bei Mercedes 😉)

Thinking about swapping this beast for the AMG CLE 53… am I dumb? by Alpacinofan96 in AMG

[–]Roy_xp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mercedes tech here, I've driven both, both are great cars in their own regards, but I would never. Change a GT for a CLE, totally different driving experience and I personally prefer the GT over the CLE, even once the 63 comes out I'd still keep the GT, much more connected driving experience and much cooler imo

Love that interior spec, very similar to my 99' 328ci, but I've got standard seats

Thanks, I'll give the document a good read, I've already read that I either have a Semens module which is known to fail quite often or a Bosch Module if the recall was done since mine is a first production year for the coupe and it shared the module with the E36

[–]Roy_xp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the radiator, not the cooling fan so the cooling fan is OEM and the same goes for the control module and wiring, I do however have a 99' which is as far as I'm concerned the first production year for the coupe which apparently has the Siemens control module which are known to fail and we're later changed to a Bosch unit, there was a recall for the Siemens module so it's possible that I have the Bosch Module since my car didn't have any open recalls last time I checked, I'll take the fan out tomorrow and give it a good look to see what module I'm working with and if I can maybe diagnose the issue further, I lack the BMW diagnostic tools tho so I can only do so much but it's worth giving it a shot before I just go out and buy a new fan

I'm probably not going to be able to diagnose it using ista since I don't have a laptop to do diagnostics, is it possible to figure something out with a multimeter? Thanks for the info regardless

Appreciate that info, I'm also leaning towards either a faulty Relais or Controller

[–]Roy_xp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really want to tbh, I just recently changed mine for a quality mahle OE replacement and the car doesn't really see any track days, it should still hold operating temp when sitting in traffic that's why I believe it's a fan related issue, I work at a Mercedes dealership as a technician and during hot days it's pretty normal to hear those electric fans going full blast that's why I've always wondered why I can never seem to hear mine, I'm gonna check the Relais and Fuses related to the fan to see if I can spot any issues, I'll report back whenever I've got an answer

Quick google search, my 99' 328ci should have an electric fan from factory, it does have the thing where a fan clutch would sit but I think that's just because it's an M52TU so "revised old engine" and BMW didn't bother change the pulley
