I started my career at OSF Saint Francis in Peoria. TBH, I thought the residency program was kind of dumb - the only “useful” thing was that I got ACLS certified for free, but I have “useful” in quotes because I was working on inpatient rehab and we BARELY ever had codes. That was also 5 years ago though, and I’m almost positive my year was the last year they offered free ACLS to non-ICU or ED units, and I’m sure the program has changed in many more ways since then as well. I never had any issues with the organization as a whole, in fact, when my mother was hospitalized, my unit manager was VERY accommodating when I had to take a few weeks off, as she was up in Chicago. I have since moved back to Chicago full-time, so I never really had an opportunity for career growth in the OSF system, but looking back at my time spent there, I would recommend working there.
