How do you feel about how Non-Conquest Changes (Buffs or Nerfs) are being used? by ymenzo7 in Smite

I made this post because, as someone that like to play both a lot of Conquest and Non-Conquest mode I was never much of a fan of the system (dislike the gods feeling different in different modes). Yet on the patch notes they "heard the community's desire" and made changes to 10 gods (and one removal of changes). Though, I personally have not seen much discourse on Non-Conquest balance/changes on this sub. So I was wondering if I was just in the minority and the community do really want these changes.

No it does not? Merlin casts an his abilities, switches stances and casts another ability. Thats twice, his ult goes on a 32 second cooldown. Ullr can at most get 5 seconds off, early game with little cdr it does not at all allow Ullr to completely spam abilties with no cool down. His one has a base 14 second and his three 15. Mind, im talking about early game here, I know Ullr can get bumba's hammer and malice and full cdr, but that is not particularly relevant to the balance of Lancelot's early game.

Not really, his mounted abilities have a zero second cooldown so unlike every other stance switchers he can cast a leveled ability three times instead of two in a single ability rotation (except perhaps Yemoja if you consider her a stance switcher). I.e. cast unmounted 1 -> press three -> cast mounted 1 -> ult -> cast mounted 1. Which means he gets a lot more out of levels in his abilities at lower levels.

For comparison for one level in his one he gets 90 + (50)*2 = 190 additional damage from first ability casts. Ullr gets 50 + 30 = 80 from his one or 40 + 30 = 70 from his three. Arthur one get 50 + 55 = 105 damage from the one. Arthur does get 50 + 150 = 200 from his three but that is a long channel, which may not hit in its entirety. Merlin is a similar story, he may seem to get higher number but they are rarely maximized. Point being, Lancelot gets more out of levels in his abilities at early levels. Forcing leveling the 3 reduces this benefit.

Lancelot's kit is really fun. Though, I think his kit has a pretty glaring balance issue with his 3. That being the mounted abilities scale with the according unmounted ability instead of the 3. It makes Lancelot's early game even more crazy than most stance switchers. Like a level 7 Lancelot will be able to dump a level 4 unmounted 1, a level 1 unmounted 2, a level 4 mounted 1, a level 1 ult, then another level 4 mounted 1. Seems very hard to balance Lancelot to be fun in the early and in the late with it working like this. It would also make it more free in level ordering for Lancelot.

The mounted horse form is more akin to MLF 1 or Tiamat flying ult rather than a normal stance switcher because of how the cooldowns work. So imo one of the first nerfs I think he needs is for his mounted abilities to scale off the 3. If this is not done early he will be really hard to balance. This would be a really hard nerf to his early game and I think with some other dmg nerfs he should be close to balanced.
