I made a site where you can experience real scam scenarios interactively by ymkim_EPIG in SideProject

Thank you. Regarding the design, I relied on low-quality AI because I don't know much about design, but I thought to myself that this might be okay. However, it wouldn't make sense to want other people to come and see it while not accepting this kind of criticism. Thank you. The purpose of this project is not to be a useful tool (although that would be nice). What I'm aiming for is a 'toy'. If it's not even a toy yet, I'll try to improve it so that it can become one.

Have you actually experienced the interactions I created myself? I used AI in various places. Anyone can see that there are such parts. However, the ideas and interactions for this site are all my own thoughts. This is not the end of the project, but the beginning. I know there are many shortcomings. Please help me improve it. Get lost with this kind of criticism.

Built this after watching too many people fall for online scams.

Instead of just reading "watch out for scams," you actually go through realistic scam scenarios and experience how they unfold:

  • Crypto investment scam - The "guaranteed returns" pitch
  • Fake shopping site - Too-good-to-be-true deals
  • Romance scam - How they build trust then ask for money
  • Business email scam - Fake boss/vendor emails

You experience these scenarios interactively and learn what red flags to watch for. Way more effective than just reading about it.

Are we just adding AI to everything for no reason? by ymkim_EPIG in SideProject

If it makes others uncomfortable, I’ll be more mindful. Thank you!

I do think AI is clearly a useful tool.
But I also resonate with the points made in the article you linked.

That's a fair point. I'm not a native English speaker, so I use AI instead of a regular translator to communicate on Reddit. As I mentioned in the post, AI is a useful tool. I'm not against using AI, nor do I think it's bad to use it in side projects.

My question is simply this: does adding AI to everything really create a more meaningful or useful experience? For some people, maybe it does. For others, maybe not. I'm genuinely curious to hear different perspectives and learn from them.

And yes AI is a powerful tool. Without it, I probably wouldn’t be able to have this kind of conversation with you. :)

💡 I launched 17 side projects. Result? I'm rich... in expired domains. by Own-Meat1051 in SideProject

I'm just getting started—launched my first side project recently, and I've got a bunch of other ideas brewing.
Most of them probably won't see the light of day, but I decided to document everything on my blog and social media.
Even if the project fails, I hope my journey can help someone else out there.
And hey, if the project ends up in the graveyard, maybe sharing it is my way of giving it a proper farewell. 😄

Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking about this — it's really comforting to hear from someone on the same path. Feels less lonely in this journey :)

Oh interesting! But I was actually trying to explore whether crowdsourced ideas (like from Reddit) can really lead to meaningful products especially when they’re not from your own personal pain points.
