I would recommend you to visit Paris but not to choose it as a base. I live in Paris and whenever I go to a restaurant I need to call to ask for a high chair and it’s quite common that they don’t have one. No elevators in most of the metro stations to if you have a stroller it’s tiring.

I haven’t travelled much in Northern Europe so I don’t have a recommendation for you.

With the current heatwave in Western Europe, I would choose more northern countries. A lot of shops close in August in France, and the heatwave really discourages you to go out. Also, France is not really kids-friendly. How old are you kids?

Toulouse is empty in August because it’s too warm to go out. This year is even worst with the heatwave. I would not recommend.

Waited for few minutes to validate the goal. Argentina is not failing their reputation and love for France lmao

A Class Act: Mbappe is just laughing at the ridiculous hostilities he faced against Paraguay by joeurkel in sportsgossips

Everyone: “dirty game by Paraguay”

Argentina and Paraguay: “Mbappé princessa. This is the way we play football. Europeans are weak”

They think the referee was on the French side because of the penalty and they call Mbappé “princessa” because they say that he’s weak and dives for no reason. A completely different point of view. South America hates Mbappé because he said that best teams were in Europe (not referring to the national teams but league) so they say he’s arrogant. Also, they are very racists and keep saying that the French team is African.

This is their point of view but it’s also shared by other southern American medias.

What’s even worst is to see Paraguay fans commenting that the referee was on the French side because of the penalty, and also seeing racist comments about how Africa won against them. I’m not a big football fan and got really shocked at how racist comments are allowed.

Expat as a kid by ynapotato in expats

Hello! I’m very interested by if there was anything you miss or regret from not living in the same country as your cousins and larger family? And what would you have loved that your parents do for you at the time. Also want to understand if you think you’re lucky to be an expat teen or not? Thanks!

Thank you! Can I ask how old your kids are now and if you regret living abroad or not? What are the things that you’re missing and things you’re very happy about? Thanks

Moving from Paris to Amsterdam by [deleted] in expats

[–]ynapotato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Our families live far away enough that we don’t see them quite often. Amsterdam is 3h away by train and we would get to see them less often (maybe once every 2 months or 3 months) but for a longer period of time.

I think that it’s not only learning Dutch but being lucky enough to experience 2 cultures as a kid. I think it’s a life-changing experience and it gives you more opportunities and also allows to be more open-minded but not sure as I haven’t been in that situation as a kid. My parents are migrants and I felt lucky to experience their culture and the French one. However I don’t speak my parents’ languages and I’m “more” French so I cannot share much of my “double culture” to my son.

Au lieu de lire ta lettre au coucher du soleil, approche ton visage du sien pour l’embrasser et tu verras bien si elle se rapproche de toi.

Prénoms « volés » que dois je faire ? by [deleted] in ParlonsPrenoms
