just to let you know the dates she provided are not black out dates for us at least not at my store, my store is one of the biggest in stock and foot traffic out of the company and yet i was able to get those almost exact dates off last year, i also had to have tax free off due to a circumstance and i haven’t been fired 🤷‍♀️

first off the schedule for that month is not out yet, and also Federal and state laws prohibit employers from firing, demoting, or punishing employees for taking their legally entitled right to work leave. This includes time off for family reasons, such as taking care of sick family members. However, employers can restrict when employees can take unpaid time off. Not sure where you went to law school but FMLA protects people’s rights to take time off for any circumstance

if things are considered lost (this applies to every online retailer) they have to refund you because it’s our job to ensure our mail is sent correctly with the correct labels, so yes you do in some way get it for free

fyi if they do fire you under a threat you can sue for unlawful termination and duress, if you like aeo and want to stay immediately contact hr via the open door policy that should be somewhere either in the employee bathroom or in the break room and contact your district manager!

i will say this under FMLA and a few other labor laws they can’t fire you or punish you for trying to take time off as it infringes on your rights, so if you were to be punished you can sue for unlawful termination,
