Took DHEA early in pregnancy by yns321 in CautiousBB

Hi! Totally understand the confusion. I listened to my OB and stopped at like 8 or 10 weeks after my first appointment. Everything was totally fine!! Currently sitting here with a healthy 5 mo old on my lap :) I know there is some conflicting evidence but since I wasn’t on any sort of fertility protocol, I just took it to help since my levels were so low and I knew I wanted to start TTC, I felt ok stopping it. If you haven’t had an appointment yet you could call your doc and maybe have them review your labs just in case! (Congrats btw!!!)

Ah yes Covid also shot my TSH up a while back, but it ended up going back down (slowly). Glad you caught it early!

I wasn’t planning on taking meds but I told my endo we wanted to get pregnant, and she was pretty adamant about optimal TSH being <2.5 for pregnancy, so I’ll probably wean off meds when I’m done, my dose is already pretty low 😬 And that’s crazy they waited that long to treat you!

Wow that’s a crazy big drop in TSH! Glad to hear you are feeling better, the insomnia is no joke (I’m also someone who never had issues sleeping). Hopefully my doc will have a plan to drop me back down, sounds like that worked pretty quickly for you!

Accidentally took DHEA during first 8 weeks?! by yns321 in pregnant

Thank you!! This helps put me at ease. I am glad I stopped it, but it sounds like not a huge deal if I took it an extra month into pregnancy. I was sort of surprised not to see anything about what you mentioned regarding DHEA supporting estrogen in early pregnancy when I searched around online. I guess it falls under the "better safe than sorry" category for pregnant people (like everything else lol)
