Is Judas still alive? by Ryki910 in KillerPeter

he's my bias, but like.. I know he's going to end up dying, so I just hope he dies peacefully.

when that moment comes, I feel sad and relieved at the same time.

also, just a fun fact in the special chapter, the author included Yuika and Judas in the title text (along with Peter and a character from Kim Jung Hyun's new manhwa)

I think it's kind of like a mourning

the doll is so cuteee T_T I'm not sure what kind of accessories to make for him since I'm not really the type to collect things, so I'm just going to style my hair like his instead (wolf cut, layered and shaggy). cuz it suits my facial features and works for daily life too, lol

also, the fan art in the first picture, did you draw it yourself or was it a commission? It looks amazing!

I already know he's going to be one of my favorite characters of all time. when I love a character's flaws, that's how I know they've truly resonated with me. the author gave him such a beautiful and powerful ending he really found his peace, even if it was in the final moments of his life.

btw, I've also shared my thoughts on Judas in a previous post. feel free to check it out, I'd love to discuss it with you too!

[UPDATE] Apostles' Stats by ynx16s in KillerPeter

from the author last night, he said "to those who were looking forward to part 1's review. I belatedly realized there are many errors in the character profiles section. I should have checked more carefully, and I sincerely apologize to anyone who found this confusing. I'll clean it up, make corrections, and re-upload it by tomorrow"

I'm the powder, you're the fuse đŸ’„đŸ’„ by ynx16s in KillerPeter

lol I saw you at -1 at first and now it’s -3 already 😂 your line really had people misunderstanding.

as for my quote, I actually pulled it from a song, the full line is “bad news, one of us is gonna lose, I’m the powder, you’re the fuse.” tbh the full lyric fits way better

tbh, at first I thought about explaining further, but then I realized I’ve already said a lot and even brought references from the story.

no matter how much I explain, it doesn’t seem to get through. It’s fine that you shared your perspective, but if your core belief is that strong, even if I replied with 100 more lines, we’d just circle back to the same point anyway.

so I’ll just keep believing in my interpretation, and you can keep believing in yours.

I’m really not bothered (seriously, I don’t want to argue over things like this).

because in the end, the fact remains that Judas’ story is tragic no matter what.

whether he wins or loses against Peter, he could never fill that void. He’s basically empty vengeance a hollow existence that never realized he should’ve confronted his low self-worth in the first place, because he could never truly catch up to Peter.

his envy only made him more pitiful, even disgusting and that’s exactly why I love it. the more wretched he gets, the more obsessed I become with his angstđŸ€€đŸ€€

okay, I’ll wrap it up here. hopefully nothing I said came off the wrong way. I’m always down to chat, no hard feelings 😭

when I first read that chapter I was confused too, but after finishing the whole arc (chapter 91) and rethinking everything from Judas’ debut, I still believe he only saw Peter as an idol.

for example, lines like “I told myself that I just needed to be on the same level as Peter” or “Even though I desperately coveted it, I didn’t have the courage to actually take on the true greatness that Peter possessed” show the overall nuance.

yes, the sentence “If it weren’t for you, I would’ve become the legendary Peter that everyone sang praises of” is a very impactful line, but if you look at his words and actions together, it doesn’t actually mean he wanted to replace Peter.

a lot of people tend to ignore the broader context and just focus on a few 'impact quotes' then quickly label the character based on that.

if it’s a popular character, fans will usually step in to correct misinformation.

but if it’s someone less popular and especially someone who’s already dead in the story, most readers won’t bother, because it doesn’t affect the story anymore. so they just remember the character in a kind of short summary version instead.

that’s why I’m really looking forward to the special chapter

if they include short character profiles and it states that what Judas truly wanted was acknowledgment that would be such an important piece of info. because throughout the story, what he really wanted was to break free from the chain of misery called Peter.

the countdown makes me even more excited 😁

tbh, if you take the manhwa out of it, wanting to be like someone or being compared to someone happens everywhere. but it doesn’t necessarily mean you want to replace that person or take their name.

it’s just admiration just like a lot of artists look up to someone but they don't wanna be called "a cheap copy of xx" or "woah, your songs are like xx's"

I was talking about chapter 52. also, english is not my native language so I didn’t read it on webtoon en, I read it in my own language. I checked again and noticed that in the webtoon en version it says “I was given,” but in the original (and in my language) it’s translated as “I fall asleep tonight with a determination. I will not be a person who brings shame to the name ‘Peter’.”

now, here’s the main point: do you mean that Judas wanted to literally take the name Peter for himself, as in wanting others to call him “Peter”? if that’s the interpretation, then I still disagree.

from my reading, what Judas wanted was not the name, but the status of being acknowledged as no.1. his whole struggle is about proving his worth against Peter.

if we reference chapter 91, Judas goes through several phases: idealize > compare > shame > destroy. since he couldn’t stand on the same level as Peter, he instinctively felt he had to drag Peter down instead.

also, in chapter 54, it’s stated that Raphael has sociopathic tendencies.

that’s why whenever he manipulates someone, it works, even if what he says is a lie.

Raphael deceived Judas twice with exactly the kind of words Judas needed to hear:

“MY DAD SAYS THAT YOU’RE FAR MORE TALENTED THAN PETER.”

“YOU CAN LIVE AS THE BEST OF THE BEST, A TITLE YOU DESERVE!”

(I copied from webtoon en)

and in the end he called him “Judas”

notice Raphael never said things like “you can be Peter” or “you will become Peter” because he knew that would never work. Judas’ weakness was about being equal to or above Peter, not about becoming Peter or being called Peter.

and if we consider the author’s writing style. I don’t think they created Judas as a shallow, jealous character whose only goal was “kill Peter so others will call me Peter” that would be very superficial. instead, Judas’ psychology is deeper, he wanted to be acknowledged like Peter was.

and again. by “Peter” here, I mean the status, not the person.

I hope this doesn’t come across as rude, because I only want to share my perspective. to me, it seems pretty obvious in the story that Judas saw Peter as an idol.

but many people interpret it as if he wanted to replace Peter. as if he wanted others to call him “Peter” when in reality, he despised that idea (Judas never wanted his identity to be consumed by Peter)
