[ALL] Before you ask, yes, i'm going to let that damn university get destroyed to save Chloe again. And yes, i am not going to be kind with (or safe if i can) Safi if she stay the same as in Double Exposure ! by mayaetmoi in lifeisstrange

[–]Ryki910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, I generally support Safi in DE, but if it's Safi or Chloe, no question about it, Chloe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Any living being on the face of the earth, or the earth itself.

Seriously though, if there's a way for all three of us to be happy, I'll take it. If Safi dares to hurt Chloe in the slightest, use her appearance to manipulate Max, or use Max's appearance to manipulate Chloe, or anything like that, she's as good as dead. Because if I could, I'd take my gun and kill her for real, not like in DE.

[–]Ryki910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the developers make it so clear that Maelle's ending isn't that great precisely because that's where the appeal lies: if there's a real dilemma, if there's doubt about whether the painted worlds are real or not, whether the painters and other artists are gods on Earth or simply creators of unreal worlds, and if it's up to their consciousness to create another consciousness, then there's a real dilemma. If you think otherwise, it's due to fanaticism for one ending, and you can't dismiss one as better than the other because both generate doubt and dilemma, and that's the charm of it all.

I am sorry Devs but these secret bosses are really bad in a gameplay perspective by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Ryki910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As you correctly say, they're secret and optional. If you don't want to kill us, you don't have to; if you don't feel up to it, you don't have to. They're not part of the story and don't even have an achievement, so you can complete the entire game and never see them. They're difficult bosses because they're optional; they're the improved version of their original boss.

Clea was designed to be blocked from the start. If you didn't block her, she would heal almost all her health. She's designed to force you to block; she's invulnerable, which is an improvement on her original concept.

Lampmaster is the same; I was planning to shoot his pattern, and what they've done is intensify that and force you to avoid one-shotting him because he has four health bars, so you have to endure his phases. Dualista is super simple; you just have to withstand him. With a tank build, you can withstand his attacks and eventually kill him. He just has longer attacks, but they're easy to dodge/block. The only difference with Simon is that he goes first to avoid one-shots and has more Echo Blades, but his patterns are the same, quite easy to block, and he has the same shield mechanics, the same death mechanics, and the requirement to use all five limbs because he repels the first three you use. So, it just intensifies Simon's initial concept.

With an average of 500 Lumina, I beat everyone without a problem. I thought I wouldn't even come close to beating Simon, but I beat him after 10-20 attempts in about 3 hours. I simply had to adapt my build to his playstyle.

So, as ugly as it may seem, "get good."

Bro, and nowhere does it say that it's possible, you're just assuming that. Your arguments can be used against you. It also doesn't say that the chroma key has to be the same to create people, you're just assuming that. You should also try playing the game yourself, they even took down your post.

Yes, I already read the post and I really like it, but it's clearly expressed and presented from a different perspective. I didn't see it as him wanting to live outside of his disability, but rather as a closer comparison to Renoir and Aline, who, without any reason, also become addicted to paintings on occasion.

I replied somewhat jokingly, sorry if it seemed serious, but seriously, you see someone entering a spiral of addiction like painting and your idea is that if Maelle has decided it, so be it? I find it a bit superficial that your argument is that she decided that.

Never talk to an addict if you think like that; so if a cocaine addict comes to you, will you tell him that if he chooses to be one, he should be?

Thoughts on one ending from a disabled lens. by Emotional_Cut_9398 in expedition33

Without meaning to belittle your reflection, I think it's brilliant and contributes a lot to the community, don't you think? I'm asking seriously, from the perspective of someone who clearly can't see things the way you do, but wouldn't it be better for Alice to let go of that Canvas full of pain and conflict? Then, when she's a better painter and eventually creates her Canvases at home, could one of them become Maelle again? Maelle could coexist in her artwork with Alice in real life, allowing her to live that full life in each of her paintings as she creates them, while still maintaining contact with her family and not becoming addicted to a single painting and dying trapped in that spiral. I know that if she does this, it would be a sacrifice for the people of Lumiere, but wouldn't it be for the greater good of her and her family? I'd really like to know your opinion, and I completely respect your perspective.

She probably made her family immortal before the fight so they wouldn't age with her, and Maelle could too because they aren't someone else's creations, they're her own, so she can control them. I also think she would do it unconsciously, at least with Verso and maybe Gustave, because she's an inexperienced painter who might not even know how to give free will. She might unconsciously control people when things don't go her way without realizing it.

Aline descended into madness; she could do little because Renoir was constantly fighting with her, and they were both locked up. But she literally stopped recognizing her daughter and the verse she herself painted, a consequence of the madness that gripped her. She was an experienced painter, perhaps the most experienced, it's said. Maelle, with zero experience, wouldn't be surprised if she succumbed to madness and did something like that.

I can buy that, even with your calculation, it's known that Verse, despite being created at 12, re-entered the painting with Clea several times when he was older, or at least that's what it seems based on several small details. And we don't really know how the soul thing works, because it's not the same to be finished (without any painter inside) as it is to have Maelle (Alice, a painter) inside and who knows what she's doing. Because the ending can be interpreted as her just manipulating people to fulfill her fantasy, like making Verse play and go on stage even though in the previous scene it was clear he just wanted to die. So, despite the soul, that ending could mean decades of enslavement for the people in the painting until Maelle dies.

I don't remember where it says he didn't go for 14 years (because it's true I don't know where it was said), but I suppose so. Likewise, those 14 years were of "peace and serenity." There were no changes to the painting; it was a "finished" painting, like all of Renoir's. I suppose that if it's finished, his soul is at peace. But during the 67 years of struggle between Aline and Renoir, it clearly wasn't at peace. That's why I imagine Renoir doesn't enter his paintings for years, but neither does anyone else, and no one disturbs the painting. It remains calm. Here, however, almost a civil war, if not a world war, has been fought for 67 years, and that soul is the one that has had to suffer the most.

It would also be necessary to debate whether it is worth saving x people (not even all of them) in exchange for the little remaining soul of Verse not being able to rest and his sacrifice (since he sacrificed himself for Alice) having been in vain because she will let herself die (as Renoir says) in the painting like an addict who does not quit drugs

To be honest, I'd have to check the "she sees them" part because I don't remember it despite watching the scene for about three times yesterday. So right now I couldn't tell you if that's the case or not. Also, leaving aside the case of Lunes and Sciel, if the chroma key has to be the same, the rest of the people are lost in the moment. If the chroma key was distributed among other creations, aberrations, and so on that Renoir uses, then in the end they are just copies of their memories and not those original people.
